For most teams who are not missing games due to COVID cases, district play begins on September 25 and the Week Four of the Kansas Prep Football Season is loaded with interesting early district match-ups.
Here is a scouting report and preview marquee matchups and player match-ups.
Class 3A
Burlington (3-0) at Prairie View (3-0)
Burlington quarterback Braden Sloyer leads the Wildcats into a visiting district game at Prairie View. Sloyer has 505 yards rushing and five touchdowns on the ground in three games. He has also passed for three scores. Burlington is not throwing the ball much, but Sloyer has been accurate and efficient. The senior projects as a JUCO level talent.
Riley County (2-1) at Clay Center (2-1)
Nic Allen rushed for a season-high 165 yards in a one-point Week Three loss to Silver Lake. The senior running back has nine rushing touchdowns in three games. Allen is fast, strong, and follows his blockers. Allen is ranked No. 173 in the Prep Redzone Kansas Class of 2021 Watch List. He is talented enough to play NAIA or JUCO football. He also plays defensive backs which could be his position in the future.
Class 2A
Minneapolis (1-2) at Norton (3-0)
Defensive end [player_tooltip player_id="35464" first="Gavin" last="Sproul"] leads Norton with 34 tackles, seven of which are for loss. Sproul is one of three players from Norton in the Class of 2021 rankings. The senior Blue Jay is ranked No. 156, while defensive teammate [player_tooltip player_id="35350" first="Christien" last="Hawks"], a Kansas University commitment is ranked ninth. [player_tooltip player_id="35372" first="Jonah" last="Ruder"] (No. 43) has 370 yards rushing and six rushing touchdowns on offense.
Maur Hill Prep (3-0) at Republic County (2-2)
[player_tooltip player_id="49696" first="Andrew" last="Schwinn"] and Jared Baxa are two of the two top rushers in Kansas and have been featured often. Therefore, in this important match-up, there very well could be a wild card performance that ends up making the difference. One of those could come from Republic County senior quarterback Cody Dahl. He has passed for 297 yards and four touchdowns in three games. My crystal ball says look for him to score his first rushing touchdown of the season against Maur Hill.

Class 1A
Central Heights (2-1) at Northeast (1-2)
Central Heights has two players at the top of the Class 2A tackle leaders. Senior linebacker Cauy Newell leads the team with 32 tackles, five of which are tackles for loss. Junior defensive lineman Dominic Lopez is just one tackle behind Newell with 31 but has seven for loss to lead the Vikings.
Northeast senior Karter Dugan guides the offense and has been productive. He has thrown for 425 yards and has passed for another 149. He has two rushing touchdowns and two passing touchdowns.
