With football being pushed back to the spring, how are you going to approach the fall?
“I see football getting pushed back as an opportunity to get better as both an individual and as a team. I can work on my strength and my football skills in general as individual, but the team can also use this time to really learn the offense and to get closer with our teammates so that we have a lot of chemistry come Spring.”
What aspects of your game have you continued to work on throughout the summer?
“Over the summer I’ve really been trying to learn the art of route running. In my opinion it’s more important than any other skill for receivers because if you can create that separation with a good route and give your QB a clear window to throw then you are going to have a lot of success.”
How would you describe your game?
“I would describe my game as just very versatile. I have a lot of confidence with my downfield abilities (beating corners just by using my speed or going up for that jump ball), but I also feel like I can make a lot of players miss on a short route and can get a lot of YAC.”
Who do you most mirror your game after?
“Stefon Diggs. I love his confidence and his clutch play making abilities.”
On film, you played a lot at the Z, do you feel comfortable being able to move around an offensive formation?
“100%. Any position a team puts me at I feel confident in both my physical and mental abilities to get the job done.”
You like to attack the football in the air and are elusive post catch, is that something you work on or does it come natural to you?
“I do speed and agility workouts with my trainer so I think those really help out with my elusiveness and speed bursts, but also with my coordination while going up to make a catch. I just have a mindset that if I get this ball I’m scoring and you are going to have to do everything in your power to stop me.”
What areas of your game do you take the most pride in?
“I take most pride in my work ethic. I don’t take any reps at anything less than 100%. As soon as it’s my turn to show what I can do I go all out. Hopefully some of the younger players on the team see that and that can motivate them to do the same.”
What are your team goals for the upcoming season at Crystal Lake South?
“Some team goals is to be at least 6-3 in conference and make at least the 3rd round of playoffs.”
Individual goals for this season?
“1000 yards 10 touchdowns is my statistical goal for next year, but the biggest goal for me personally is just to have good time. Especially with the season being in the spring this is the last ride for me in high school. I wanna make the most out of it.”
What is the most important thing you’re looking for, as you look at schools?
“The most important thing for me is I want to feel like the coaches really want me to be apart of their program. If I can create a good bond with a coach before I even meet them then you are going to have my interest.”
