The 6’0″ DB/WR/RB is currently the 13th ranked overall senior on Prep Redzone’s rankings for the class of 2021 as well as being slated as the number one defensive back in the state, regardless of class.
The former Rogers speedster, jumped onto the recruiting scene as a freshman on the varsity track team. He made the school’s top 4×100 team as and he quickly showed why. By the end of his sophomore year he took hold of the school’s 100m and 200m records, at 10.84 and 21.92 respectively. This led to being selected to the All-State track team for the second consecutive year as a 10th grader.
Most recently his speed was showcased, as he ran an unofficial 4.25 40-yard dash in a training session (which would rank as the third fastest time ever at the NFL combine).

Olowo’s varsity football career began as a sophomore, he was starting for Rogers at cornerback in week one. His role consisted of mostly just that, with a handful of touches on the offensive end and a few kick and punt returns as well. He flashed his potential playing at a very high level all season.
He carried his gridiron potential into the next season, as his role expanded in his junior season. His dominance continued on the defensive end as he grew into a true lock down cornerback. His role on the offensive end grew immensely. The former Royal finished with 137 yards on 33 carries and ended with three rushing touchdowns. His success did not end there, as he reeled in 24 catches totaling 335 yards and four receiving touchdowns.
Michael’s gridiron success led to three division one offers. This consisted of two FBS offers from South Alabama and Army West Point along with one FCS offer from Northern Iowa. Although he was rewarded, he was hungry for more.
The defensive back prospect announced Thursday will be transferring to Pinnacle High School in Phoenix, Arizona. Olowo will be joined by his good friend and training partner Tartan ATH, Dorian Singer. Pinnacle High School is one of the top programs in the country, as most recently the top QB in the country in the class of 2019 Spencer Rattler attended the school who is now expected to be Oklahoma’s starting QB in 2020.
The biggest reason that Pinnacle was such an intriguing opportunity for Olowo was the ability to get recognized, as already heading into his senior year, the superb athlete felt like he deserved more. The Phoenix located school provided that, as a team can play up to 10 regular season games in Arizona compared to Minnesota’s eight.
“It was a good opportunity for me to get more exposure and specifically power five offers, Olowo said.” With more games it also gives me more film to work with.”
Transferring to a school with nearly 1,000+ more students can be daunting for anyone, but luckily he will have a familiar face coming with Dorian Singer, someone who he has developed quite a friendship with over the last few months.
“I’ve known Dorian since last year October and during quarantine we started training with each other more and more pushing each other every day, said the Rogers product.” Now it just feels like we’re brothers, the way we compete against each other and still mess around.”
Both Dorian and Michael have been training with Eric Harrison, who is someone that has worked with some of the best athletes in Minnesota and brought them to new levels in the last few years.
“I’ve been working with Eric for 4 months and he knows how to bring the best out of people turning them into their best, said Olowo.” “Some example are Cody Lindberg (Minnesota) and Sam Robertson Sam Robertson DB Wayzata | 2020 State MN (North Dakota) as past kids he’s trained that are going to play D1 football.”
Singer and Olowo have both said that the chance to play with 2023 QB Devon Dampier Devon Dampier 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Saguaro | 2023 State AZ at Pinnacle is too good to pass up. Dampier is the younger brother of recent Champlin Park graduate Will Dampier, and Olowo had reason to why Pinnacle stood out over other schools.
“The opportunity to play with the best QB in the class of 2023 Devon Dampier Devon Dampier 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Saguaro | 2023 State AZ [was too much to pass up], said Michael.”
Leaving an area that you have grown up in can be hard for anyone, but Michael will always to make sure to remember where he came from.
“It’s really hard leaving the place where I first started playing football all the way back in 7th grade, said Olowo.” I’ll always cherish all the memories and I’ll never forget where I played the majority of my football career.”
God forbid, if this year’s football season were not able to happen on time as normal the former Royal is confident that he will be able to find the exposure that he deserves.
“If the season didn’t happen they have major camps down there with a lot of college coaches in attendance, but I’m believe firm we’ll have a season, said Michael.”
