Bergen Catholic’s Tywone Malone Tywone Malone 6'4" | DL Bergen Catholic | 2021 State NJ and Blair’s Aaron Amitage are both big name prospects that can take over games on the defensive side of the ball.
Malone is a 6’4 monster along the defensive line. He has a quick first step and can get to the quarterback or be a run stuffer. Malone has offers from a plethora of big name schools but he has recently cut his list to 14. Some of the high caliber programs include Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, and USC. He will have his pick of the litter. Malone is also an incredible baseball player. He is a true duel-sport athlete because of his athleticism and quickness.
There is a reason that Malone is the top player in the state. Right on his heels is another dominant lineman from Blair. Armitage doubles as a tight end, but he is best on the defensive line. He is one of the top recruits in the nation along with Malone. Armitage’s list of schools is endless. He has offers from the likes of LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, and Wisconsin.
Both players have a certain nose for the football. They are always around the ball making plays because of their speed. It is hard to contain the 6’4 lineman at the high school level. When they attract double and triple teams, this frees up their teammates to make plays as well.
When Malone and Armitage make their decisions abut where to play college ball, it will be national news. They are two players with extremely high-ceilings and could contribute well at the next level over time. Bergen Catholic and Blair are two of the top programs in the state so it is fitting that they feature the No. 1 and No. 2 players in New Jersey.
