Tahj Bullock Tahj Bullock 6'4" | QB St. Peter's Prep | 2021 State NJ of St. Peter’s Prep has the skill set, size, speed and arm talent that you’d expect from a starting QB in the ACC. The Virginia Tech commit stands at 6’3, 205 lbs and has an entire senior year to bulk up, but even at his current stature, he reminds me of just about every quarterback who’s started for the Hokies since Tyrod Taylor. Big, strong, athletic and a knack for taking the top off secondaries.
Bullock is more than just a kid who loves the deep ball though. After watching some film on him, it’s clear he has a great touch on his ball similar to the aforementioned Taylor. The first player I actually thought when seeing him throw into tight pockets was Russell Wilson. Not the biggest, not the strongest, not the fastest but he’s plus in all these categories and leaves it exactly where the receiver has a chance to come down with it.
Another thing to mention about Bullock is his play in the red zone. Upon multiple highlight-reel viewings, it’s impossible to ignore just how accurate he is when he’s inside the opponents 20-yard line, especially at the goal line. Without sacrificing any zip, time after time Bullock puts it right where he needs with ease. Hokies head coach Justin Fuente, who played QB at Oklahoma and Murray State, has had huge shoes to fill following the retirement of Frank Beamer. One thing is for certain though, he knows how to coach his quarterbacks. With Andy Dalton and Paxton Lynch already a part of his QB tree, don’t be surprised if Tahj Bullock Tahj Bullock 6'4" | QB St. Peter's Prep | 2021 State NJ joins those guys on Sunday’s in a few years after a great career at Virginia Tech.
