. This past season, Weaver took clear command of the offense, throwing for over 2,200 yards, 24 touchdowns, and completing 68% of his passes.
More importantly, the growth showed up on film. Weaver pushed the ball downfield with far more consistency. His footwork and mechanics in the pocket looked cleaner, and as a result, his accuracy improved at every level — deep, intermediate, and underneath.
Because of that progress as a passer, defenses had to respect his arm. That, in turn, opened things up for him as a runner, where he added five rushing touchdowns. He showed improved feel in the pocket, buying time when needed and making throws instead of immediately relying on his legs.
Looking ahead, the next step is continuing that polish under pressure. If Weaver keeps developing as a passer while maintaining his playmaking ability, another jump is coming. Currently ranked No. 6 in the 2028 quarterback class by Prep Redzone, he has a real chance to crack the top five — or even the top three — with another strong season.

, his high school career got off to an unorthodox start. In St. Thomas’ first game last year they traveled to Maryland to face Mount St. Joseph. In that game their offense stalled and struggled mightily under Roman Blanks and was jump started by Weaver. However, upon returning home Weaver was regulated to serving as a backup and relief the rest of the season. In the bit of film shows that he throws a very accurate ball up to 50-yards vertically, while also having a quick release. The best thing Weaver might do is throw the ball on the run, showing equal proficiency rolling out to either side. These type of play calls seem to compliment him well in terms of ball placement so his receivers can accrue yards after the catch. Despite a quick release, the freshman version of Weaver would benefit from getting the ball out sooner by making quicker decisions. For as strong as his arm is, I am not sure I see it explode out of his hand. Activating his lower half by throwing off of his front foot will help; yet I cannot help but think he is placing the ball to his targets.

Don’t look now, but St. Thomas Aquinas may have found their quarterback of the future.

stepped right into the most difficult and important position in the sport and flourished immediately. St. Thoms Aquinas may not have come out of Week 0 victorious, but they have gained a lot of confidence and a clear vision for their future. Zymere started his career off throwing 12 for 15, 179 yards and 2 touchdowns to go with it. Size, strength, speed and pure athletic abilities; these are the best ways to describe Zymere, as he has the potential to truly be one of the best QBs coming out of NJ in 2028. What was fascinating to see is Zymere’s patience in the pocket in his first game at the varsity level. It looked like he was a veteran with how calm he stood in the pocket and how he wasn’t flustered when flushed to the outside. St. Thomas Aquinas has a young squad that will get even better with time.

Another pick where I went against the grain of the camp pick, quarterback-wise I could not keep my eyes off of

. Every rep he took I had to take a look-see. Weaver throws an absolute beauty of a ball. He has a compact, quick throwing motion that deploys the ball in a hurry. Arm strength is not an issue, as he was launching 40+ yard bombs with ease. Weaver’s accuracy was there for the most part and he had a keen idea as when to throw the ball, independent of throwing to fellow camp goers he had no rapport with. At 6’2″ and 185lbs, Weaver certainly looks more than the part.

– No.8 Quarterback
– Splitting time with Rahmir Rivera at quarterback, the duo led an unstoppable offensive attack for the New Jersey 14U All-Star team. The squad straight up bullied the competition, bringing home an AYF 14U All-Star National Championship trophy that was never really in doubt
– The only reason(s) I have Weaver listed on higher than Rivera on this list right now, is the advantage in size (Weaver is already 6’2″) and the corresponding higher ceiling that comes with it

is an impressive looking young athlete. He’s all of 6-foot-2 with length and athleticism to boot–and is honestly probably a better basketball player right now. Down at AYF Nationals, the New Jersey 14U All-Star team was an absolute buzzsaw that destroyed competition with a smash-mouth running game and attacking defense. Weaver has some things to work on, namely throwing a tighter spiral and improving accuracy. However, once he hits the weight room on a consistent basis and continues to develop, I don’t feel they’re long-term issues.

From an athleticism standpoint, Asbury Park’s Weaver was on another level than the other signal callers in attendance. A reclassed kid, he’s every bit of the 6-foot-2 and 160 pounds he’s listed at and I wouldn’t be surprised if he was actually taller and heavier. He’s the type of kid you notice right away because he’s taller than most and carries himself with some swag. Also a talented basketball player, he has a long delivery and doesn’t throw the prettiest pass in the world, but his accuracy was pretty good. Moved very fluidly when having to throw on the run. Best way to sum it up for those who are unfamiliar with

– A very talented multi-sport athlete that already stands 6-foot-2 and 155-pounds as a long, lean quarterback and safety on the football field and a talented guard/forward on the hardwood
– One of the top players in the state of New Jersey when it comes to hoops. Has been dunking in game action for over two years and can also hit from distance
– Loved the way he played the quarterback position this past year for Asbury Park. Can throw a deep ball with nice touch, seemingly with just a flick of the wrist. Then, on the next play, can improvise to pick up yards on the ground. Quietly becoming one of my favorite football players in the state for the class of 2027
