Another edge player, albeit more of a traditional linebacker type, Dante Jennings Dante Jennings 5'11" | 195 lbs | LB St. Thomas Aquinas | 2027 State NJ looks to attack by coming down hill hard. Yes, he is asked to cover; but his real strength defensively is that he has true, raw tackling force/power. Jennings also is a spell back who does a lot of tough running between the tackles. I thought that Jennings turned relatively well, and is fluid as a runner. I like his approach: planting his foot and getting upfield quickly. A sturdy build allows Jennings to absorb low hits and keep upright. Ultimately, I feel as though Jennings will be a better fit as a linebacker at the next level.

Dante Jennings Dante Jennings 5'11" | 195 lbs | LB St. Thomas Aquinas | 2027 State NJ appeared to play last fall as a sophomore in more of a reserve role. Looking ahead to his junior year, however, Jennings is competing for an increased time share on the defense. A mike linebacker, Jennings does a great job of chasing to the edge to avoid opposing offenses springing big plays. He will use his shoulder flipper to take on blocks, dipping low and stacking oncoming linemen. As a tackler Jennings does a good job of wrapping. Jennings’ film would be more sound if he included clips of him defending the pass in them. Also, as he prepares for his junior season I wish to see him play more down hill – doing so by trusting his reads.
