Zavien Villafuerte Zavien Villafuerte 5'11" | 200 lbs | RB Northwest Whitfield | 2027 GA is the leading back for the always explosive Northwest Whitfield offense. He went for 125 in a high-scoring win over Sonoraville. He is still a little raw, running upright and finding confidence as a runner, but that only signals upside to me, because he is naturally tough to tackle at his size. I love his patience, letting his blocks develop and do the work while he doesn’t unnecessarily peel off his path. This is a fun breakout senior for small-school coaches to consider.

Villafuerte wasn’t the premier back for the Northwest program, but he is now expected to be, as he slides up the depth chart. He has a mixture of key traits, but he will be a back that remains a terror when it comes to trying to tackle him. His lower body strength is improving tremendously, and it is something that has started to be noticed. He will have many more reps this season, which will lead to a bigger workload and a much larger production rate.

Patient runner who showed he is someone who can work with what the offensive line gives him. He isn’t an easy guy to bring down when it comes to the point of attack, but his success rate is mostly noticed when he is able to get through to the second level. He worked behind a senior running back, who had a solid senior season, but he is now expected to be on the move up the depth chart. His size allows him to be a true power back, but his faster than a typical power back. He is a hidden gem. We will see if the Bruins use him as an every-down back, but if you need Mr. Reliable on 3rd and 4, Villafuerte is your dude.
