Lukes is a bruising running back. Measures in at 5’10 205-pounds. Last season, he had 260 carries for 1537 yards with 18 touchdowns, including 19 receptions for 166 yards. Lukes has good athletic ability due to very good speed, balance, good acceleration, and change of direction. Very good vision. If a gap is covered, he’ll use his jump cut to pick, slide, and accelerate into the open hole gashing the defense for a big gain. Very good inside running. Good outside running. Turns the corner and uses his acceleration to gain yards. Lukes thrives gaining yards after contact. He uses his balance, stiff arm, and trucking to power through defenders. Puts his shoulder down and runs right through them. As a receiving option, he has shown to be productive. Uses his good ball tracking and catching with strong hands to hold onto the ball while he’s getting hit. Good job in pass protection, giving his QB extra time in the pocket. Look for Lukes to have another stellar season!

Very good inside running, following his offensive line’s pads to get the first down. Good outside running. Lukes consistently gains yards after contact due to trucking through defenders, bouncing off them, or using good juke moves to make them miss. He’s a solid option out of the backfield receiving too. Good ball tracking and catching. He does a good job in pass protection as well. He’s already had an impressive season, and I’m surprised he didn’t make all-state this past season.

Pine Creek’s offense has been powered all season by the consistency and explosiveness of Lukes. The Junior standout has rushed for 1,429 yards and 17 touchdowns, providing the Eagles with a steady presence in the backfield. His combination of vision and burst allows him to turn short gains into highlight worthy plays, making him one of the most dynamic backs in 5A. In a playoff matchup expected to feature plenty of fireworks, Lukes will be the tone setter. His ability to control tempo and grind out yards after contact could determine the game’s flow. As Pine Creek looks to advance, Lukes will be relied upon to keep the offense rolling and keep the defense off balance.

Lukes is the leading rusher for Pine Creek and a lot of the offense goes through him. This bruising running back measures in at 5’10 205 pounds. Through 4 games, he has 77 carries for 460 yards with 4 touchdowns, and 7 receptions for 73 yards. He has good athletic ability due to very good speed, good acceleration, balance, and change of direction. Lukes uses his good vision to find a path through the defense. He’s a mixture of a weaver and a power back, not shying away from contact. He uses his quick feet to fool not patient defenders with his juke moves, not allowing them to guess where he’s headed. One thing of note is his competitive toughness. Lukes will run in front of his WR to block for them out in space. Watch out for him to continue pounding the rock and leading the way for Pine Creek.

Lukes was the MVP of the running backs. The 5’10 195 running back is a bruiser runner, who can make an impact in the passing game. Very good catching. On one play, he jumped over the defensive back, adjusting his body to come down with the catch. He kept his hands underneath to secure it. Impressive especially coming from a running back. Lukes has very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, jumping, good speed, and change of direction. Lukes used dynamic cuts to change his direction, making DBs miss. During the drills he showcased his very good acceleration to blaze through them accurately. He’s a physical back, and runs like a man with purpose. Pine Creek has a developing young core, and Lukes is a major reason behind that.

Lukes impressed with his smooth route running and ability to find gaps in zone coverage. His quickness in and out of breaks helped him consistently create separation, making him a reliable target throughout the day. Lukes’ understanding of the game and his natural ability to exploit defensive schemes reflect the maturity of his playstyle. After a strong season of reps, he capped the camp by earning RB MVP honors. As a young player with plenty of upside, his consistency, vision, and ability to adjust on the fly make him a rising star who will continue to develop.

Lukes is a back that is shifty and is able to make the first defender miss. He has the top end speed to be a threat when he makes it to the perimeter, being a homerun threat when he touches the ball. He has the vision to find the hole quickly, setting up his blocks and navigating to get north and south in a hurry. I like his ability to be a weapon out of the backfield and be a 3 down back. He is an up and coming back that you will need to be familiar with.
