Early, Osterbauer ran a hook route for a catch and a first down. In the second half, he made the play of the game by picking off a tipped pass in the end zone and returned it 105 yards for a touchdown. Later, he stuffed a run for a short gain. Late in the game, he caught a pass in the flat, hurdled a tackler, and stuck the landing to pick up an extra five yards.

Wyatt certainly showed why he’s one of Minnesota’s best hybrids defensively in the 2024 class as he showed off plenty of athletic movement from what I engaged with watching him up in Grand Forks in the morning session. He was one of the quickest defensive ends out the DL group I watched live at UND with the fluidity of his hands showing off excellent range and dexterity with his sizable reach in drills. He also showed some high electricity with burst within his footwork as this kid showed off he could easily climb downhill into the backfield with the fighting hands he showed off as Wyatt certainly showed off his versatility at the UND flagship camp. With his tape, Wyatt is a certified hit-stick as he constantly uses his high football IQ to knock back the socks of the ball carrier on every rep you watch. It’s no wonder why Wyatt’s stock has grown substantially in the last handful of days since camp at the FCS level as I would expect more of the Missouri Valley to get involved with this 6’4 225 pound prospect out of Buffalo. As I’ve been mentioning on Twitter, my choice for the strongest position group after the 2024 PRzMN official rankings update went live goes to the Linebackers. Filled with physically impressive and experienced inside and outside ‘backers, the second strongest position group goes to the defensive line, and our next stock riser is a quality representation from both positions in 6’4, 225 lb. Buffalo High School DE/LB Wyatt Osterbauer. Up 16 spots to #24 overall, and with a ton more potential to continue to climb, Osterbauer has good tape from both defensive spots, along with TE, and hit the D1 recruiting space in March when the South Dakota Coyotes offered an FCS scholarship at the beginning of this month. After that, Iowa State and Minnesota both sent a junior day or spring ball invites, along with UNI, and I’d be very surprised if more Missouri Valley schools don’t get involved when it’s all said and done. In 7 games of 2022 action, Osterbauer posted 67 tackles, 5 TFLs, and a FF, and displayed some noticeable mobility and start/stop skills for a LB of his size in his junior tape. The 6’4, 225 lber. is patient when reading his keys, tracks the ball well, and uses good angles when pursuing ball carriers, and he also does a great job of bringing his hips through contact and exploding through RBs and QBs. He’s simply too massive for blockers to handle and also made some high-pressure catches as a TE that required concentration and athleticism. There are a ton of good things on tape, and I really like him at LB, so we’ll see how these junior day visits and eventual camp circuit continue to develop. More offers coming!

The well-built Buffalo junior comes in at 6’4, 225 and has hopefully been passing the eye tests at his unofficial fall visits to Central Michigan, NDSU, North Dakota, NIU, and SDSU this fall. The ILB/TE finished his junior season with 67 tackles, 5 TFLs, and a FF in seven games of action and is an eye-popping ILB thanks to his size, mobility, and thunderous tackles. Osterbauer flows to the ball beautifully and covers a ton of ground moving laterally before finding the hole and coming downhill like a runaway train off the tracks. Also made some nice catches as a TE, had the wherewithal to pick the ball up and execute a game-breaking 85-yard scoop & score, and can take on blocks seemingly unaffected thanks to the strength in his frame. Also looks not fun to get hit by and I could see him playing at any of those spots he visited so far this fall. MN is putting out some massive prep LBs lately and I am all here for it!
