Expert Analysis
Connor Jackson | Prep Redzone Scout
Maestre played both ways for East Coweta last fall, and if he does it again, there is a chance no other player on this list is more beneficial to his team’s success than this kid. He is a big, fluid player as a receiver capable of separating and playing above the rim. He rallies hard after the football as a defender, and his size casts a large shadow in the secondary. He could play on either side of the ball in college, and he gifts East Coweta two elite players for the price of 1.

A quick, twitchy wideout Southwest of Atlanta, Maestre is a dependable wideout and playmaking defensive back who can get open on his own and pick up yards after the catch on offense. He shows quick feet, can create separation in the middle of the field, and can be a vertical weapon when the opportunity is there. The East Coweta playmaker caught 24 passes on offense for 356 yards and six touchdowns. Defensively, Maestre made 26 tackles and picked off four passes. He’s earned recent offers from Louisville, West Virginia, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Ole Miss, among others. He’ll also see a solid bump in the next Prep Redzone rankings.

Maestre is firmly on the P4 recruiting radar and is receiving attention both as a DB and as a WR. The same traits that help him contribute as a receiver also translate to DB. He has fluid hips, efficient footwork, good ball skills, and impressive size. He rallies hard after the football, which is what takes his game as a defender to another level. As a receiver, he has an uncanny ability to get DBs to bite. His combination of size and speed scares corners vertically, which sets up plenty of opportunities to contribute underneath. On both sides of the ball, expect Maestre to get opportunities to make plays on the ball, meaning he could be the catalyst for an East Coweta run.

One of the fastest-rising prospects in Georgia for the 2027 class, Maestre is a shifty wideout with a lean 6-foot-3 180-pound frame. He shows quick feet, the ability to create separation down the field, and dependable hands when securing the football. He didn’t light up the stat sheet last year, but the talent and potential is easy to see. He’s had a giant month on the recruiting trail adding offers from Auburn, Texas A&M, USC, Georgia Tech, Miami, among others. He’ll be added to the next 2027 Prep Redzone update.
