Freeman is coming off a productive sophomore season and has finally picked up some recruiting traction this offseason. If you have followed along with me at PRZ, you’ll know Freeman is a name that has been on my radar since his freshman season. He is a tall, lanky prospect with a basketball background. He has always been raw, but he is starting to grow into himself and realize his potential. I will be watching him closely to see how his speed and general juice jumps as a junior.

A versatile, playmaking defender who can line up at both linebacker and in the secondary, Freeman is one of the top returning 2028 defenders in the region who plays in the small town of Sharpsburg at East Coweta High School. The playmaking sophomore made over 70 tackles last year and lived in the backfield with 15 tackles behind the line of scrimmage along with 11 pass-breakups in coverage. He’s instinctive, active, and plays with a physical presence, knowing how to deliver a big hit on the ball carrier. His stock is rising and Power Four interest and possible offers are likely coming his way over the next several months.

Freeman’s first offer from Kennesaw State comes as no surprise to me, as I have been tracking him since his freshman year. A productive sophomore season certainly helped his case. Tall, lean DB who creates havoc plays as a tackler. I love how he engages blockers, and he consistently makes plays behind the line of scrimmage. He is capable of separating the ball from ball carrier as well. His playstyle will only benefit from added weight and play strength, so I am extremely bullish on the upside here.

A new 2028 safety to keep a close eye on this season, Freeman is an athletic defensive back with a promising 6-foot-2 170-pound frame who doesn’t shy away from contact. Just a sophomore, Freeman plays hard and is currently one of the leading tacklers in that area of the state. The Sharpsburg native made 31 tackles through his first three games, making 12 tackles against Sandy Creek, 10 against Newnan, and 9 against North Cobb. He’s active, strikes the ball-carrier correctly, and can even make plays on special teams. He’s a fast-rising prospect who could see his recruitment start to pick up in January if he continues to have a big season.
