Expert Analysis
Joshua Graham | Prep Redzone Scout
Tyson Douglas Brown was a standout in my first time seeing him in person, and he absolutely did not disappoint. He showcased elite ball placement all day, consistently putting his receivers in position to make plays. Brown throws a really pretty ball with great touch and can deliver from multiple arm angles, showing both creativity and control. Beyond the physical tools, his leadership qualities were evident—he commands the offense with confidence and gives his team a real chance to win every time he steps on the field.

Douglas-Brown hit the recruiting radar before he even started his high school career, but we didn’t expect him to win the starting job as a freshman. But, he won the job in the preseason and performed admirably for a rebuilding Corvian Community squad. He’s a true dual-threat who can do plenty of damage with his legs, and he’s a multi-sport athlete with a big arm at the quarterback position.

A true freshman who already looks ahead of the curve, Douglas-Brown put together a remarkable debut season, throwing for 2,500 yards and 27 touchdowns. The production—and poise—jump off the tape, and it’s no surprise he’s already holding a Power-4 offer from UCF. His best performance came in an explosive outing where he finished 11-of-25 for 263 yards and five touchdowns, showcasing big-play ability and confidence well beyond his years. One of the most promising young quarterbacks in the 704.

Few freshman quarterbacks had a year nearly as good as Douglas-Brown’s for Corvian. He threw for 14 touchdowns, ran for four more, and threw just four interceptions. Corvian is typically a run-heavy team, but the Cardinals are trusting their freshman signal-caller, throwing more than they did even last season with an upperclassman. He’s comfortable throwing on the run both to the left and right, and he uses his athleticism to create space for himself to get throws off with space.
