…And now back to Union City. Koffa, a recent Morgan State University commit, was head-and-shoulders the best defensive back in attendance. A few adjectives I wrote down to describe his performance were: jams, sticks, suffocates, and mugs. Unpacking that a bit, Koffa was an immediate winner at the LOS, allowing very few receivers a clean release. From there, he stuck with them on every route not relinquishing a single step no matter how hard the break or how deep the depth. Koffa seemed to suffocate receivers as he covered them like white-on-rice. Finally, you better walk with your hands in your pockets around Koffa, as he totally mugged receivers, stealing the ball right out of their hands at times.

has decided to commit to Morgan State University. This is a big get for the Bears, as Koffa can impact the game in a variety of ways in all three phases. It is unclear what other offers he held, but he will be playing FCS football next year at the popular HBCU.

is the second of the two running backs returning in 2023. A 2024 athlete, Tyler is a true offensive and defensive threat. Offensively, Tyler is another RB that is straight up faster than the competition. He follows his linemen to daylight and reemerges in the end zone. I am more and more impressed with this offensive unit the more I see them run the ball. And with 884 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns, the offensive scheme has proven to work extremely well.
On defense, Tyler plays close to the line as a safety/nickel corner position. He presses at the line pushing receivers off their path and jumps the ball when it’s thrown his direction. With 3 interceptions on the season and two returned for touchdowns, Tyler showed in 2022 how much of a playmaker he really is. He has received offers from Morgan State, LIU and Sacred Heart thus far, but I am sure more will head his direction this fall.
