arrived from The Region at 6014 189 and was easily one of the natural arms seen this combine season thus far. Custy has adequate size, big hands, and operated drills with notable precision and poise. Ball placement was on point and he can deliver the ball with appropriate velocity at all levels. Throwing motion was smooth and loose, mechanics calm and controlled. Custy was one of the top competitors as well, wanted all the reps he could get, and performing in multiple sessions at the event he was observed. This Greater Chicagoland signal caller should see stock continue to rise throughout the year.
Custy moved to Crown Point this year and got the nod on Varsity. He had his ups and downs to start the season, but got rolling as the year went on. He’s confident in the pocket and can get through his reads. He’s got fantastic touch to his deep ball and can drop the ball in over the shoulder into a bucket. He helped lead Crown Point to a 9-0 record as a starter. He’s accurate, doesn’t turn the ball over, and doesn’t make boneheaded mistakes. 71% completion in year 1 as a starter showcases how accurate he is.
Custy is an electric dual-threat quarterback who could step into the spotlight as soon as this fall. His freshman tape shows a ton of ability and play-making instincts. He’s got a good feel for pressure in the pocket and knows when to take off. He’s got throwing mechanics and doesn’t strain too much downfield. He’s 5’11” right now, but he’s got plenty of time to keep growing physically and mentally. I’d expect a breakout year for Custy if he puts it all together.
