It is no coincidence that the prospect who had the fastest 40 yard dash at the New England regional threatened upfield and got defenders on their heels in a hurry. Troy Durand showed everyone just exactly how well he moves. Further, Durand has the size that allows him to stem off of an inside release, level out, and use his body to box out defender’s path to the ball and allow himself to secure an easy reception. Ball adjustments are something that Durand can work to improve. Running over the middle, his quarterback threw a poorly placed ball that was way behind him. That withstanding, Durand extended and got his hands on it – a pass I wish he was able to convert.

- Durand wore #146 during the showcase, and the New England region prospect, will attend the St. Mark’s school in the fall. He had a solid combine ranking in the top 25 of each drill.
Durand was a player I consistently saw myself watching during drills. His vision and ball tracking skills on over the shoulder throws was impressive. He showed a good number of reps, and was a strong and physical route runner throughout the day.

Troy Durand is a guy who can go and make plays to impact his team in many ways. He performs well in big moments it seems and that is a reason why he is competing in the “RIZE” event this summer! He will represent a loaded 2030 group out of the North side of the Country. I’m really excited to see what he can do out there versus other talent at a big event!

New E
turned heads with a polished and productive showing at the recent Prep Red Zone NEXT showcase. As a young 2030 prospect, he competed with poise against quality competition and flashed the traits that college coaches look for in developing wide receivers. Durand ran smooth, controlled routes throughout the session. He showed good body control, the ability to sink his hips, and clean transitions in and out of breaks. His route tree looked advanced for his age group, with crisp cuts that allowed him to create separation even against physical defensive backs at the event. He didn’t waste motion, maintaining speed through the stem and into the break — a key separator for young receivers.
He displayed a quick release off the line, which helped him get into his routes cleanly and avoid getting jammed consistently. Ball skills were reliable; he caught the ball naturally in stride and showed the ability to secure contested catches thanks to his physicality. Durand played with good strength for a 2030 prospect, using his frame effectively to box out or maintain leverage in traffic. Coaches will appreciate how physical Durand played. Durand moved well in space with fluid change-of-direction ability. While primarily working as a WR at the showcase, his athleticism supports potential two-way value if a staff wants to develop him as a safety or hybrid defender down the line.
