We have been tracking Bellevue West’s Tristian James Tristian James 6'1" | 190 lbs | ATH/DB Bellevue West | 2027 State NE since his freshman season and have evaluated him at several different positions, and all I can say is to just get this guy on the field. Tristian has proven in the past few seasons that he is a gamer who can excel wherever you put him, but might project best as a DB or RB. Tristian ended his junior season with 44 tackles, .5 TFLs, a fumble recovery, 208 rushing yards, 43 receiving yards, five rushing touchdowns, and two receiving touchdowns. As a DB, I am very impressed with his range and instinctive playmaking from the safety position. He reads the field very well and is quick to break on the ball with the closing speed to arrive in time to disrupt passes or make a play against the run. Good tackling safety who can make open field tackles. His speed crosses over to the offensive side very well, as he can explode through his gap and accelerate downfield in a flash. James possesses great vision and twitch that help him maneuver and make subtle cuts in tight quarters. Strong contact balance to stay upright as he battles through tackle attempts. We could see Tristian challenge for the Thunderbird’s QB1 spot next season as well, so keep an eye on that!

Bellevue West’s Trisitan James is an interesting prospect who could find himself on the field, even if it’s outside his actual position. Tristian is listed as a quarterback but quickly earned more reps at RB as the season progressed, ending the year with 849 yards and 11 rushing touchdowns. Tristian is a speedy runner who can beat defenses to the edge and can separate from defenders as he accelerates through the open field. Elusive runner who can make defenders miss in the open field. The tape on Tristian is limited, but based on his production from last season, I would say we could expect a true breakout season.
