Although he’s known as an elite DB, Sorrell popped off on offense during Week 3 where he brought down 6 receptions for 118 yards and 2 TDs. That means he averaged a stunning nearly 20 yards per reception against a tough Skippers secondary. The Jackrabbits got a steal of a prospect who consistently succeeds on both sides of the ball.

, a product of Vermillion, South Dakota, started his slow and steady come-up on the recruiting trail this spring, earning his first D1 offer on April 21st from Northern Iowa’s safeties coach Q Black. North Dakota also joined on May 23rd, but it was an eye-catching performance at the first PJ Fleck RTB Prospect Camp earned him South Dakota State, North Dakota State, and South Dakota offers. 6′ and 160 pounds with long arms, loose hips, and burst out of his breaks, Sorrell is a patient yet strong press corner with quick and fluid COD ability that helps him maintain phase with receivers at every point of a route. Once he gets hip to hip he’s not going anywhere, and his physicality and balance help him disrupt receivers at they try to hit their landmarks and really gets in their heads throughout a day of competition. Sorrell also tested very well at the multiple events I saw him at, with top-end speed to stay with even the fastest of receivers and the length to compete at the catch point against bigger pass catchers. Total package who locks in and saves his best performances for the biggest moments. Sorrell committed to the back-to-back defending FCS champs SDSU on the 18th, adding an exciting summit to what has been a steady and impressive recruiting climb. Jacks got a stud!

Trillion has had himself an excellent last few months as a stock-rising defensive back moving back home to Minnesota from Vermillion, South Dakota. Every chance I have gotten to watch Trillion, he certainly shows that his ball-tracking has gotten more poised which is exactly what I saw at the UND Flagship Camp in Grand Forks. He also has grown his football IQ as well from the reps I watched at UND, as he showed off more fluidity in his footwork and utilized his technique to the wide receiver down early in their route to not give them much traction to improvise. Trillion has been an MVP a couple times this summer, once for me at the Sioux Falls Sharks 7v7 tournament this summer and then backed up that skillset in a camp setting at the Minnesota State prospect camp a couple weeks ago in which he got his first early offer. The Edina newcomer is going to be a DB to watch for the Hornets in the coming seasons and although he is moving from 11A football in South Dakota to 6A in Minnesota, his length and ball vision should transition nicely in the coming years and at the next-level as they don’t hand out early offers like that in the NSIC unless you ball out at camp. Coming over to Edina from Vermillion High School in South Dakota, Sorrell has great length at the corner position. He doesn’t look like a physical corner, but he reacts quickly – transitioning from a pass drop to putting his foot in the ground and getting involved in the running game. He likes the contact and is a great tackler. At receiver, Sorrell has quick feet off the line of scrimmage and runs good routes. His speed has to be dealt with, and he has solid body control – with his ability to adjust to balls at full speed and still come up with the catch. Like on defense, he does not shy away from contact and is an effective blocker on the outside in the running game.
