Trigg Whisenant Trigg Whisenant 5'9" | 170 lbs | ATH Letcher County Central | 2030 KY has burst onto the scene as an instant-impact freshman prospect for Letcher County Central on both sides of the ball. He opened his career with a 9.5-tackle performance against a good Johnson Central squad before turning that around in Week 2, when he proved his worth on offense. Highlighted by a 55-yard touchdown run, he ended the victory over Leslie County with four touches for 85 yards (21.5 yards per touch).

It was a bit of a quieter Future Stars Game in 2025, than it was in 2024 for Trigg Whisenant Trigg Whisenant 5'9" | 170 lbs | ATH Letcher County Central | 2030 KY . Nonetheless, his talent is undeniable. His best play of the game came on the final play of the opening quarter. On the play, the Letcher Central prospect had an exciting run that brought the ball down to the 32-yard line in Tennessee territory. It ultimately resulted in a FG attempt for the Kentucky Future Stars.

As I noted in the Top Performer article following last year’s sixth-grade game, Whisenant was the first prospect I noticed on the field for the Kentucky Future Stars. The kid played with an energy and bounce in his step that was second to none–probably why he recorded 40 touchdowns during the 2023 regular season. Following another outstanding football season that culminated in an appearance in the EKMC A-Team Championship Game, the talented athlete then went on to win a Basketball championship during the winter. He is currently playing Baseball and running Track for the first time, with a PR of 12.45 in the 100m.

Whisenant caught my attention during warmups by the way he was bouncing around the field and looked to be focused on the game ahead of him. Didn’t score a touchdown or anything, but he was active all day long. Whether lined up in the backfield as a Running Back or in the slot as a Wide Receiver, he was one of the go-to weapons for the Kentucky 6th grade Future Stars.
