To wrap up the top five running backs in the class of 2024 in the state of Kentucky, I have Trey Durbin Trey Durbin 6'1" | 205 lbs | ATH Elizabethtown | 2024 State KY from Elizabethtown. Durbin is coming off a very impressive junior year in which he carried the ball 99 times for 1,130 yards and 13 touchdowns. Trey is a big, athletic ball carrier that has an impressive blend of speed and strength as a ball carrier. He has the ability to run away from the defense but when defenders do catch up to him, he has the ability to run right through their tackles without losing stride. Durbin also finished his junior year as his team’s leading receiver, showing the ability to run routes like a receiver out of the slot. He finished this past season with 13 catches for 314 yards and six touchdowns. Trey currently holds offers from the University of Pennsylvania and Findlay, and I expect more to come his way as he is a true Division I caliber running back prospect.

Trey Durbin Trey Durbin 6'1" | 205 lbs | ATH Elizabethtown | 2024 State KY is a dual-threat running back prospect that excels at slicing through the defense at a rapid rate and can beat you off receiving routes as well. Durbin, a 6’1, 207lb prospect playing for Elizabethtown High School, had a stellar season as he recorded 99 carries for 1,130 rushing yards, 13 catches for 314 receiving yards, and 19 total touchdowns in 12 games played. When viewing Trey Durbin Trey Durbin 6'1" | 205 lbs | ATH Elizabethtown | 2024 State KY ‘s playing ability on the gridiron for the first time, the immediate thought is how remarkably good he is at cutting through the defense. Durbin makes this look incredibly easy to cut through narrow running gaps and shift past the incoming defenders to break out onto open field. Durbin can effectively perform this through his fantastic lateral motions. Durbin is one of the most laterally agile players in the 3A prospect class, and he can maintain his top speed even when changing directions. This level of talent is not often seen in this state, and he is one of the few to hold that title of elite play. As of this summer, Trey has had some collegiate interest from a few D1 programs and has attended their summer prospect camps. There is little to no doubt he will be suiting up at the next level after his upcoming senior season.

Another running back that had a big junior year is Elizabethtown’s Trey Durbin Trey Durbin 6'1" | 205 lbs | ATH Elizabethtown | 2024 State KY . He finished this past season with 99 carries for 1,130 yards and 13 touchdowns. Trey is a big, athletic running back with dangerous speed which he uses to run away from the defense and get to the outside. He is also a very strong runner, often times taking multiple defenders to bring him down. Durbin does a great job of keeping his legs churning through contact to break tackles without losing stride. He also showed the ability to run routes like a receiver out of the slot, finishing as his team’s leading receiver this season with 13 receptions for 314 yards and six touchdowns. Durbin doesn’t currently hold any offers but I can see some coming his way this off-season as he has received some college interest and definitely has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.

Another junior running back that impressed me this past week was Trey Durbin Trey Durbin 6'1" | 205 lbs | ATH Elizabethtown | 2024 State KY from Elizabethtown. Durbin was a huge part of their 49-13 victory over Mercer County, running the ball eight times for 232 yards and four touchdowns. He is a big, athletic running back with great vision, finding the running lane and coming downhill in a hurry. Once he gets through the running lane and into the open field, Durbin has a great second gear to him, showing the speed to run away from the defense. Durbin also played a role on defense as a defensive end, coming away with a strip sack and running all over the field to make tackles in this game. Trey doesn’t currently hold any offers but should see some come his way soon as he has been receiving interest from college coaches and has the talent to play at the next level. Durbin and the Elizabethtown football team will be on the road for a tough second round match up with Christian Academy of Louisville this week.

Trey Durbin Trey Durbin 6'1" | 205 lbs | ATH Elizabethtown | 2024 State KY is a player that has jumped onto my radar recently. He plays in many different roles for Elizabethtown but I believe he shines the brightest at running back. Durbin had a solid sophomore year, running the ball 67 times for 928 yards. Once he hits the second level. Durbin has the burst to hit a second gear and run away from a defense. He also has the elusiveness to make defenders miss in the open field and the strength to run straight through potential tacklers. Trey doesn’t currently hold any offers but he should be on college radars as he has the potential to be a true difference maker for someone at the next level.
