TJ Fo’ilefutu Jr. is just one of those backs you can’t help but notice — and not just because he’s ripping off 12 yards a carry. The dude runs like every play matters, and you can see that in how he hits the hole. He’s got real vision, knows how to follow blocks, and when he decides to go, he goes. No hesitation, just downhill. But he’s not just a power guy. Once he’s through the line, TJ’s got the burst to leave defenders behind. Add in his soft hands and ability to catch out of the backfield, and you’ve got a complete back who can hurt you in multiple ways. Now at Liberty, he’s going to be a problem for defenses this fall — and Hawaii saw it too. He’s the kind of player who shows up and immediately makes your offense better.

A hard-nosed and tough LB/RB at 6’1” 215 lbs. Brings a downhill and attacking style of play to both sides of the ball. On defense, he can line up and be effective from multiple spots as an outside edge rusher or play off the LOS as LB. Can work around blockers and avoid contact on his way to the ball carrier. A physical tackler that is always driving his feet and finishing through contact. Exceled on the defensive side as a sophomore finishing the 2023 season with 72 total tackles and 20 TFL but also shined as a RB in Tonopah Valley’s 2024 opener. He’ll be a major impact player on both sides for the next two years.

TJ Fo’ilefutu is a force of a running back who’s incredibly hard to bring to the ground, and it’s not even his best position. Defenders that try to get in his way usually end up lying on the turf looking up at him after he runs through them like a rhinoceros. His cuts aren’t the sharpest, but he has enough quickness to get away from defenders when he needs to. If he’s able to quicken up that change of direction it will not only help him running the ball but will also help him run crisper routes when he goes out for a pass. Where Fo’ilefutu truly shines is on the defensive side of the football. Particularly disruptive rushing from the edge, he can still play inside and has enough speed and agility to cover the evolving new-age tight ends. What stood out most about his game was his physicality; he’s looking to make sure his presence is felt each and every time he makes a play. With this type of ability on both ends of the ball, Fo’ilefutu’s stock is sure to rise as he gears up for his junior year.
