One of the top overall linebackers in Gwinnett County, Penick was a tackling machine for the Comets this year and was an easy addition to the latest 2026 Prep Redzone rankings. A physical, hard-hitting defender who closes quickly and can make plays in the backfield, Penick was a Coastal Carolina commitment who learned a last-minute offer to play for the in-state Georgia Bulldogs. On the first day of the Signing Day period, the breakout senior made the decisions to flip his commitment and sign with the Bulldogs. The 6-foot-3 200-pounder made 94 tackles this past season and is ranked as the No. 135 overall prospect in the state.
