Peoples is a growing talent that continues to get better and better as his frame grows over time. I saw him compete at a mini series in 2025, and he was easily one of my standouts, as he has a very accurate ball and can push the ball through tight windows. He left me in awe multiple times, as he can throw a ball that looks like it nearly skips in the air. He can throw a football that will avoid defenders no matter the situation, and he will be a quarterback at the next level without a doubt. I think he is by far one of the better quarterbacks in the state.

CJ Peoples CJ Peoples 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB South Gwinnett | 2027 State GA is coming into this event with a lot to prove to the average fan in attendance. He isn’t the most popular player, nor is he recruited as much as some of these guys, but I can confidently say he is one of the more complete passers when it comes to an accuracy standpoint. He is unbelievably talented when it comes to that side of things, and he has the chance to become a dangerous gunslinger. The prospect is the son of a college coach, but his path to earning offers has been strictly through his success. Peoples will be a top performer in my personal prediction.

CJ Peoples CJ Peoples 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB South Gwinnett | 2027 State GA raw numbers from last season 757 passing yards and 7 touchdowns don’t fully capture the type of quarterback he is or the impact he had on South Gwinnett’s offense. The Comets leaned heavily on the run game at times, and game flow often limited pure passing volume, which kept his statistical totals modest compared to some high-flying offenses around the state. But when you turn on the film, you see a quarterback who kept drives alive with his legs, extended plays outside the pocket, and made timely throws in key situations. His athleticism and ability to create off script added another dimension that doesn’t always show up in the passing column.
What the stat sheet also doesn’t show is leadership growth. Peoples took on more command of protections, improved his decision-making as the season progressed, and showed poise in competitive region matchups. He accounted for production both through the air and on the ground, and several of South Gwinnett’s biggest offensive moments came when the ball was in his hands. Heading into his senior season, the expectation is that with more experience, more trust in the system, and potentially a more open passing attack, his numbers will rise — but more importantly, so will his overall influence. If the offense expands and he continues developing as a field general, Peoples have the tools to make this year that truly defines his legacy at South Gwinnett.

Peoples is a tick below some QBs in the state recruiting status wise, but he is one big offseason away from changing that. Peoples is a three sport athlete, including a baseball background. The ball rifles out of his hand, and he makes it look easy. His delivery is explosive and quick. He is still filling out as well, so physical upside is present. I have long been a big fan of Peoples and he is in good shape to make a jump headed into his senior season.

Let me tell you about CJ Peoples CJ Peoples 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB South Gwinnett | 2027 State GA the junior QB at South Gwinnett High who’s been making defensive coordinators pull their hair out this season! This kid’s been the heartbeat of the Comets’ offense, throwing 9 touchdown passes while rushing for about 41.7 yards per game as one of the team’s top ground threats, showcasing that dual-threat juice that college coaches love. He’s been accurate enough to lead the team in completion percentage and QB rating on the roster, and in key wins like the 26–0 shutout of Rockdale County he accounted for 119 passing yards with two scores and added 66 tough rushing yards on just five carries. That’s the kind of production that says “I’m here to ball” every Friday night and trust, folks are starting to take serious notice as he keeps raising his game toward bigger recruiting offers. Right now, he’s begun drawing recruiting attention from colleges such as Liberty, Cincinnati, Kennesaw, Maryland and the list goes on.

A gunslinger with a lot to like. He continues to show his patience and ability to let routes develop. He is the son of a Georgia Tech coach, and I still believe he would be good enough for a program like that. CJ will be a D1 ball player; it’s just a matter of where.

The development Peoples has had has been quite electric. He is one of the most accurate QBs I seen during the Spring, as he is someone that can put a hop on the football like no other. One of the better quick game passers in the state, with the ability to lead WRs and also the ability to just put the ball where it needs to be. The command he has on the football is phenomenal and one of the better traits he has.

An athletic quarterback flying under the radar with impressive natural arm talent, Peoples will bring a lean frame and promising arm strength to the table this season for South Gwinnett. The ball zips out of his hands, he can throw on the run, and has the potential to have a breakout 2025 season this fall if he continues to develop and grow as a quarterback. He was the backup last season for Archer but should be able to lead the Comets to a strong 2025 season this fall. He’s now ranked as the No. 20 QB and the No. 119 overall prospect in Georgia.

A fast-rising dual-threat quarterback in Gwinnett County, Peoples showed potential last season at Archer with a chance to have a big junior season at South Gwinnett in 2025. He brings good size, mobility, and promising arm talent. He’s still looking to have his breakout season, but his recruitment is already starting to really pick up this summer. This rising junior and multi-sport standout added a new recent offer from Cincinnati and could see more come his way over the next several weeks.
