Another week gone by, another week of the senior edge defender being a menace to opposing backfields. The long, lean defender was able to so quickly defeat OTs around the edge with his first step off the line and ability to dip and bend while getting underneath OTs. Teigan also made plays against the run, closing quickly and easily corralling them in the open field on the edge. It is very impressive to see the way he can hold the line of scrimmage vs the 300 lbs OTs he went against in Week 6 also. Give the tape a look!

Teigan took the momentum of a strong summer and rolled it right into Week 1 where he was a monster for the Wausau West defense. The senior edge defender was all over the backfield making plays and creating pressure. Rasmus has the explosive burst off the edge that gets him into the backfield untouched at a super high rate. His wide alignment lets him run almost a straight line to the ball and even while doing that the OL can’t get depth in time to cut him off. Teigan played like a heat-seeking missile that always seemed to know where the ball was, allowing him to always be on a straight line path to it. Explosive athleticism and instincts are coming together more and more making Rasmus a need to follow athlete this season.

Teigan has quickly become a regular on our camp coverage. He was a standout at the PRZ WI Spring Showcase and now he is back after a great day at the UWEC Big Man Camp. The 6’2″ 209 lbs 2026 has a 6’3″ wingspan and a lot of athletic tools that made him very difficult to block. Teigan’s first step was both quick and violent as he was able to turn that quickness into power on contact. He did so well using leverage and that long, lean frame to drive back OL or hold the line in run game reps. It was great to see his power to pair with the quickness we have quickly come to be big fans of. That quickness again was on display as he could run the loop or suddenly cut or counter onto a new pass rush path mid-rep. I’m a big fan of this kid.

. The 6’2″ 209 lbs junior has a 6’3″ wingspan and the talent to pile up wins off the edge. He proved just that during 1 on 1s at the Showcase. If his initial plan didn’t work Rasmus showed off the ability to quickly come up with a counter move and execute it. His balance, agility, and burst shined as he countered or as he was using his abiility to bend and get into a position of leverage while running the loop to the QB. His powerful initial burst off the line stood out from the crowd as well. It was a great day for an athlete who has impressed up every time we see him live going back to last summer. Don’t sleep on this 2026.

Teigan is an athlete who has caught the eye of PRZ scouts since last June when we came across him at a few camps. I’m looking forward to seeing the size he measured in at. Along with that I am excited to see how he tests in the agility drills. Teigan is an edge who wins with quickness, so getting some numbers there along with a 40 time on top of it will be valuable. Plus I can’t wait to see his speed go up against the OL that will be in attendance. Definitely a kid I can’t wait to see in person again.

A very intriguing edge prospect from Wausau is Teigan Rasmussen of Wausau West. The junior has a solid frame that is filling out well while remaining explosive. Teigan is very athletic for the edge position. He is quick off the line, closes quickly, and also shows off the balance and agility to be able to make tackles 1 on 1 in space vs athletic QBs or RBs. Rasmus is able to be a consistently disruptive force on the edge because of his athleticism. Against HS talent Teigan also shows that he can do everything needed by an edge outside of the athletic stuff. He can also set a strong edge against the run. Obviously he will need time to fill out that frame to do it at the next level but seeing his willingness and success at this level is great to build on for the future. I think we could see a breakout year for one of the top athletes in the city.
