About Tanner
Expert Analysis
Herman Thomas | Prep Redzone Scout
Huckfelt was in complete control in the pocket for his junior season and the game looked easy for him. He made clean throws at every level, stepping into them and delivering strikes where only his guys could get it. Huckfelt showed great placement and zip, getting the ball out quick and never being rushed on his throws. He showed good pocket awareness, escaping when he had to and still being accurate while being on the move. Huckfelt is a player to keep on the radar going into his senior season with the tools needed to move in the rankings.

Tanner has the arm talent to make every throw on the route tree with pinpoint accuracy, he has excellent field vision which enables him to complete passes into small throwing windows and he has great touch on his deep ball. He has great pocket presence, his footwork is clean, whether it is a three-step drop, five step drop or quick pass and this allows him to get the ball out on time in rhythm. Tanner has the mobility to escape pressure, he throws well on the run and he has the speed to make plays with his legs. With a visit to Iowa State and several camp invites, he will no doubt get more eyes on him from college programs heading into his senior season. He is a quarterback prospect to keep an eye on in the Houston area.
