Joining Tecla in the Poteau backfield is senior running back Spencer Perry Spencer Perry 6'0" | RB Poteau | 2026 OK and while the Pirates are going to be throwing the ball more in 2025, they’re not completely abandoning the run altogether. And when you have a running back like Perry returning, it would make a ton of sense to keep feeding the workhorse of the Poteau offense. Perry enjoyed a breakout season in 2023 and he continued that momentum last fall. But now, he can actually take his game to new heights. Defenses are going to have to worry about defending the pass and that could make his job easier.
