-OL Co-MVP
I made a prediction that Skyler might be one of the best 2027 offensive linemen out of the OL group last Saturday that college coaches probably should have an offer on the table sooner on, which although an offer has come yet for the 6’3 280 pounder out of Spearfish he took home the accolade of being our OL MVP last Saturday in Sioux Falls. He boosted the most violent hands I saw in this offensive line group and the amount of strength and powering leverage Skyler can produce early in reps translates a lot to what you see on tape. He’s surely one that doesn’t have an offer yet that needs some D2 or D1 FCS attention my eyes.

Skyler is another one I’ll be excited to watch in the offensive line group on Saturday out of Spearfish at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase. He’s gained in size and frame since we last got a live eval on him as the now 6’3 270 pounder took a great step foward in his junior season with the Spartans, especially with his leverage and pad-level skillsets. Skyler also has gotten quicker with readjusting his hands to elevate the run game as one that I feel could play in a couple different spots on the offensive line at the next-level. In what is a loaded OL group in our 2027 South Dakota class, Skyler surely has the opportunity to rise his stock with his showing this coming Saturday even more.

Skyler is a climber in our 2027 rankings in this offensive line group out of Spearfish that seems to develop better and better the more I watch him each year. It’s evident he has had a presence in the Spartans weight room, adding around 20 pounds from last update and you can see where it translates on tape. Skyler is one that even if his pad-level is slightly off has the power in hs hands and drive in his lower body to steal pulverize his blocker out of their stance. He is one that one of his growing skillsets pertains to him as an angle-blocker, as he’s gotten not only more physical but shows off a smoother hand placement to drive them out of the position on a consistent basis as it shows. Spearfish surely should have another offensive linemen in their next class play on Saturdays, as Skyler should fit the bill for those D2 schools.

On the first few reps you see on tape from Skyler, you can see quickly how much he overwhelms his defenders with his strength and balanced hand control. His growth he’s made from a year ago is solid from what I see out of his first step as he’s gotten more fluid with his foot speed out his stance. I like this young man making a solid move up in our 2027 rankings coming out this winter.

Skyler is a 6’1 now 250 pounder out of Spearfish, that took a step up from his freshmen to sophomore year and I felt looked sound during my live eval this winter at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase. You can tell that this young man has a growing football IQ from the first look on tape as the instinct Skyler has to pass-block and then get out in space as a upfront pull-blocker shows off great versatility. I also feel Skyler grew from the season to this offseason with his footwork as our new OL9 in the 2027 class and has lighter tape, which should show off the upcoing upside for Skyler.
