Defensive tackles are some of the premier prospects on the recruiting trail, and an iDL coming up the pipeline at Waconia has our attention. Seth Leier’s game tape against Mankato West, Northfield, Apple Valley shows a bully along the interior with heavy hands, solid leg drive/pad level for his size/age, and pass rushing juice as a DT. He forced a fumble on kickoff coverage, does a good job of disengaging from OL and sniffing out the rock behind the LOS, and demonstrates a good get-off that can beat OL with speed off the snap. Leier flashes eye-catching closing speed, especially for a defensive lineman, and split some doubles on his sophomore highlights in must-mention fashion as well. Seth Leier Seth Leier 6'0" | 265 lbs | DL/OL Waconia | 2028 State MN describes his play-style as violent, and he definitely brings an upfront and tenacious attitude at his Nose Guard position. Showcasing impressive explosiveness off the snap, Leier is impressively quick and agile in the interior, being able to slip his way through the pocket and into the backfield to force pressure on the QB, and also uses that speed to flash impressive sideline-range to be able to chase down the ball-carrier running outside the perimeter. Leier should have a much more prominent role for the Wildcats’ defense in 2026 and could be a hidden gem in the makings.
