As a freshman, he led the pack with 130 tackles, with Jefferson following behind. Everything said about Jefferson can be said about Wasson as well, as both players are similar in their production, and both players are similar in the hype around them. Wasson has the chance to be the best player in the state from the 2029 class on the defensive side of the football.

One of the top young two-way players across the state, Wasson is a private-school athlete in rural Georgia who dominated on both sides of the ball as a freshman this past season. He’s a terrific athlete with a muscular 5-foot-10 195-pound frame who can do just about anything you need on the gridiron. At running back, Wasson ran through defenses on a weekly basis for 1,151 yards and 11 touchdowns, hitting the 100-yard mark six times. He’s a tackle-breaking back with above-average speed who also made 130 tackles on defense. He’s a sleeper 2029 athlete to keep a close eye on moving forward after his dominant freshman season.

A big-time athlete who has made play after play on both sides of the ball all season long, Wasson may not play against great competition, but even as a freshman, Wasson has been consistently one of the best players on the field. He’s a stout defender and can throw the ball at quarterback, but it’s his physical running style that really stands out. The powerful runner has carried the ball 192 times this fall for 888 yards and nine touchdowns. He’s hit the 100-yard mark five times already and has run for six touchdowns over the last three weeks. He’s a promising 2029 prospect with a bright future ahead of him.

A private school dual-threat quarterback to know in the 2029 class, Wasson is a promising passer still developing, but his ability to run has caught defenses off guard. He’s not the biggest or fastest guy, but he’s a good athlete who runs well and can make defenders miss in the open field. The Bellville, Georgia native has run for 413 yards and three touchdowns this season, averaging 4.5 yards a carry. His best football is on the rise and he’s been one of the more productive freshman quarterbacks in the area to start the 2025 season.
