Mentioned this in a piece before, I’ve always been a fan of the young man’s game, how could one not be. I didn’t foresee Petras blowing up the way he has, this is an oversight/miss on my end. Big bump in ranking coming up. Huge early spring, Petras is still keeping steady reeling in offers from Robert Morris, and FBS programs UMass and Army WP all within the last week and some change. Ivy’s and FCS programs are all in on everything Petras, but it’s nice to see the UMass’s and Academy programs stepping in to show love as well. Petras stock is sky-high right now, well deserved.

Petras has floated around the middle of our rankings for some time, I’ve questioned whether or not he could reproduce his production over the years. I’ve questioned his size and if he could replicate his two-way abilities. After watching his junior tapes, encompassing what he’s done in the past as well, it’s hard to leave Petras outside of the PRZ Top 250. That “58” number next to his ranking might seem harsh, that is until you realize 26 ATHs were given FBS grades. Knowing what I know about PSAC boards, I doubt Ryan Petras Ryan Petras 5'9" | 180 lbs | ATH Bethel Park | 2025 State PA falls anywhere underneath a D2 threshold, a big compliment considering he hasn’t reached his senior year in high school. Yes, stature and how it could affect his recruitment is a valid question that will arise, yet I wouldn’t be surprised to find FCS schools digging into his tape a bit further. Here’s a sophomore whose impact can be felt across the board. A special return man, a player who demands the ball in open space, something Bethel Park does very well. Ryan Petras Ryan Petras 5'9" | 180 lbs | ATH Bethel Park | 2025 State PA is a heavily utilized sophomore that can score from pretty much anywhere on the field. in a myriad of ways, I might add. His mid-season tape shows off his excellent return skills, both punt and kick. The tape also shows how easily he can gain yards when involved in jet-sweep, misdirection sets. You might assume he’s a gadget player that needs smoke and mirrors to excel. That notion dissipates when you see him work at slow wideout, as well as at Safety. Petras’ overall game has elevated every phase of Bethel Park football. Quite the feat for an underclassman.

Ryan is a swiss army knife of an athlete for his team. He’s explosive with speed & accelerates easily past defenders when he hits the edge. He is a dangerous return specialist due to his great lateral quickness. Bethal Park will line him up at RB where he shows vision, patience & a good burst. Petras is only a sophomore & will be one of Bethal Park’s main guys for 3 more seasons.
