I truly think we are witnessing one of the most special skill players that will ever come out of AZ here with this explosive Sophomore. A crafty, well polished receiver with the ability to dominant at all 3 levels of the field. He flashes quick, active feet and does a great job setting up his routes with an explosive burst at the top of the route. Soft, natural hands with the ability to extend past his radius and snag anything within his vicinity. Oliver is elite after the catch with excellent top end speed, twitch, change of direction, and does all of these swiftly. Excellent positional IQ and spatial awareness to recognize zone coverage and sit in open zones, while also knowing when to look for the ball- contributing to his tracking ability. He scored in every game he played in with the exception being Cesar Chavez, where the starters were removed early in a 63-0 blowout. Oliver finished the year with 92 receptions for 1,839 yards and 29 TD’s, and currently holds 18 offers. A national level recruit that already looks to be a sure difference maker at the P4 level, and still has 2 more years to go.

Roye Oliver III went from a “remember-the-name” freshman to THE name in Arizona football this fall, on pace for one of the most productive receiving seasons the state’s ever seen.
He’s a polished route-runner with rare body control and absurd hand strength. Every rep shows next-level maturity — he beats press, tracks deep balls effortlessly, and plays with the confidence and composure of a future Power Four star.

is one of those guys who makes everything look easy. His movement is just different — smooth, efficient, and explosive without ever looking like he’s trying too hard. He’s got serious top-end speed and wastes no time getting into his routes, which makes him a constant deep threat. Corners who give him too much cushion won’t close it in time, and those who press run the risk of getting burned early. What really stands out is how well he controls his body throughout the route. He doesn’t drift or round things off. Everything is sharp, purposeful, and clean. Add in strong hands and excellent ball tracking, and it’s easy to see why he’s already one of the most dangerous wideouts in his class. Whether he’s working underneath or stretching the field, Oliver creates problems all game long.

from Hamilton. At 5’11” and 160 pounds, Oliver might not be the biggest receiver on the field, but he’s certainly one of the most productive. His 43 receptions, 861 yards, and 11 touchdowns during the 2024 season are proof of that. What’s even more impressive is how he performed under pressure. In the Open Division quarterfinals against Marana — the first playoff game of his career — Oliver snagged a 30-yard touchdown, helping Hamilton secure a 31-22 victory. Oliver’s success is no accident. As I wrote in a previous feature:
With blazing speed, he has no trouble getting behind defenses and isn’t likely to be caught from behind. Oliver runs some really precise routes and moves incredibly smoothly across the field which is rare to see from a freshman.
As he continues to develop physically and refine his game, the sky’s the limit for this young wideout. Oliver is already setting the bar high, and it’s going to be thrilling to see what’s next for him as he grows into one of Arizona’s premier offensive threats.
