Jordan Reyes | Prep Redzone Scout
Vanacore flashes an impressive dual-threat skillset and a solid 6’2” 190 lb. frame. Flashes a compact release with accelerated motion to throw with velocity across the middle and to the perimeter. Good balance throughout his drop back and delivery he maintains a strong base to generate strong rotation in the hips/shoulders. Great ability to extend the play under pressure being able to step up in the pocket or slide laterally. Can quickly reset or throw from different platforms. Demonstrates a natural ability to create plays both as a passer and runner. Runs well and is elusive on designed runs and when he pulls it down to tuck. Holds D1 offers from Georgia State and Kennesaw State. Threw for just under 2,000 yards and 22 touchdowns as a junior.

Vanacore is a dual threat QB that does an excellent job extending plays, and is a flat out playmaker. He shows a solid pre-snap read with good footwork in the pocket and delivers with a snappy release- getting that extra zip on throws at the end of his motion in which he frequently shows the ability to fit throws into tight windows. Twitchy runner with good lateral bounce to make opponents hesitate as they can’t figure out if he’s going to take off and run or bounce back to set his feet and throw when the play breaks down. He excels at delivering those off-platform throws in either direction and can make those off-platform throws with various arm angles.

I really like the ceiling Vanacore possesses after my initial eval. He shows a good pre-snap read to identify coverages and mismatches, and does a great job knowing where to go with the ball and getting it out quick- oftentimes on seams or verts, showing the ability to finesse throws in (play #1 on film). Good pocket presence to stand tall and and throws with anticipation while showcasing good overall arm strength to both hit throws with velocity or stretch the field vertically. I really like his ability to throw off platform and throw with different arm angles as well. He does a great job extending plays to either find receivers downfield or pick up yards on the ground. As a ballcarrier, Vanacoreshows solid vision with impressive balance- frequently bouncing off tackles and keeping momentum forward. He flashes a nasty jab step to put opponents on skates and flashes solid top end speed once he gets his shoulders squared downfield. Definitely a kid to have on your radar this spring.

Vanacore was listed as one of PRZ’s top rankings newcomers in the January update and collected his first offer shortly after from Georgia State. 6’2” 190 lbs. he’s a true-dual threat QB and a creative playmaker. Savvy athlete with plus short area burst and long speed, he can avoid the rush with quick cuts and break away from defenders as a ball carrier. Possesses a live arm with a quick and compact release to get the ball out on timing routes and when under pressure. Shows high level field vision, patience, and processing skills to allow the play to develop and then locate a target. He’s precise with his ball placement and puts good touch on his throws to layer the ball over second level defenders. Colleges will love his ability to buy time and extend the play. Recruitment is just getting started and will continue to rise.

Vanacore brings a creative edge to the quarterback spot that’s tough to teach. He’s got a little wiggle to his game — not the kind where he’s looking to take off and run every down, but enough to buy time, escape pressure, and give his receivers an extra second to get open. He’s got that shortstop-style release, quick and compact, and he can throw from all sorts of angles without losing accuracy or velocity. That part of his game really jumps off the film. When he lets it fly deep, the ball comes out clean and catchable, and he clearly trusts his arm to put it where only his guy can get it. You love to see that kind of confidence, especially from a sophomore. He does have a bit of that early-exit habit when pressure comes, but it’s not panic — it’s just instinct. As he gets more comfortable maneuvering inside the pocket — stepping up instead of out, feeling space instead of fleeing — his game is going to hit another level. The natural arm talent, quick trigger, and poise are already there. Once the game slows down for him, watch out.

Royce Vanacore Royce Vanacore 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Sunnyslope | 2027 State AZ is a name that defenses are going to have to start circling. He’s got this sneaky burst and quickness that can turn a broken play into a big gain, whether he’s extending it with his legs or taking off for valuable yards. It’s not just his mobility, though — his throws outside the numbers are spot-on, showing a level of accuracy that’s hard to coach. What’s really impressive is his patience. Vanacore doesn’t force the ball into tight spots; he’s willing to wait for the right opportunity, even if it means scrambling to buy more time. He’s a playmaker in every sense, always looking for a way to make something happen, whether it’s with his arm or his legs. He’s already making waves, and it’s clear why he’s earned a spot in these rankings.

A lot to like about the dual-threat skillset for the QB out of Sunnyslope. He shows a lot of natural ability at the position both as a passer and ball carrier. Flashes excellent arm talent to make all the throws necessary to all three depths and the boundary. Shows he can mix up velocities to put touch on the ball, be accurate from different arm angles, and make accurate throws from various off-balance platforms. Plus accuracy and ball placement skills putting it in a position where only his receiver can make a play and then run after the catch. Like his ability to move the chains as a ball carrier both on designed runs and on broken plays using his quick cuts and speed to make defenders miss. Ranked as the #9 QB in the 2027 class and #47 overall but expect upward movement as he develops and progresses.
