Northern Illinois has a good one coming to town next year. Ross looked every bit of his list 6’7″ 225 lbs. He has the long arms to match as well. The senior is blessed with excellent athleticism too. He made some impressive chase down tackles 50 yards downfield against skill players. His first step at his size is FBS quality, and he is developing his hand usage very well. As he continues to fill out his frame at the next level I expect to see him find a key contributor role at DE for the Huskies. Good luck at the next level, Ross!

The Huskies of NIU came to WI to find length. They added the long WR above, and they also got the commitment from Baraboo DE Ross Liegel Ross Liegel 6'7" | 225 lbs | DL Baraboo | 2024 State WI . Ross’ length is as rare as it comes. He is 6’7″ and 215 lbs. His frame is just beginning to take shape as he will be working to fill out his frame. The traits he offers are also special. His get off, body control, and light feet don’t usually come on a kid that size. Ross is so quick out of his stance, can make OTs miss with just his lateral quickness, and when he gets a glimpse of a clean release he can explode into the backfield for tackles. Ross is an athlete who will be in position for an insane breakout at the next level.

A student athlete overflowing with potential, D1 potential, is the Baraboo DL Ross Liegel Ross Liegel 6'7" | 225 lbs | DL Baraboo | 2024 State WI . First off, his 6’7″ 220 lbs frame has rare length and plenty of room to continue to fill out. I’m blown away by his explosive quickness. He flies out of his stance, closes on the OT, and then has a long list of ways to defeat the OT. His change of direction on a dime is special for a kid his size. His top end speed gives him the ability to chase down ball carriers in the backfield, from behind. Ross’ hands are equally as quick. They aren’t the strongest yet, however, they are able to get him clean of the OL hands to the point where he can shed the block. Liegel is the most raw prospect in this article, but he might have the most potential also.

The potential that comes with the 6’7″ 210 lbs DL out of Baraboo is off the charts. Ross debuts at DL4. High praise for a deep group that has multiple players with FBS offers already. His obviously elite length pairs with the body control to bend or dip under/around OL. Ross’ speed and massive strides allow him to close quickly in the backfield. I expect to see the strength continue to improve as he fills out his frame, but he already is able to hold his own on the edge against the run. He is also raw in terms of pass rush moves. So as that continues to develop Liegel will only become more and more difficult to block. When technique and talent meet completely then we are in for a huge breakout and rise for the beast of a DL.
