One of a couple Brooklyn Center athletes that cracked my defensive back standouts list is one I surely believe I have had on my radar at our Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase before, as

is one that has surely grown his stock since last showcase in my eyes. The 5’11 160 pounder, was one of the longer defensive backs in the group and is figuring out out how to use that length to his advantage in the reps I watched. He was poised in the reps I watched attacking the hip early as another one out of Brooklyn Center that intrigues me with his football IQ and where it can take him over the next coming years.

A tall, long, and very-much still-growing sophomore out of Brooklyn Center’s loaded 2028 class,

is in the midst of a heckuva offseason. With some noticeable muscle gain, Pierce-Tyler Jr. was really settling into the DB position, especially in man-coverage, where his length and ball skills are a natural advantage. The sophomore was looking considerably more comfortable and confident in man coverage in Plymouth than the last time we saw him, and he was doing a particularly good job of staying square and keeping the gate closed in his press at the LOS, and due to the improved speed & quickness, he was able to stay right in the hip pocket of a wideout throughout their route and breaks. Pierce-Tyler Jr. was doing a great job of squeezing space throughout a route and staying in a WR’s grill, forcing more than his fair share of PBUs throughout 1v1s. Keep an eye out for BC and the 6′, 165 lber. Pierce-Tyler Jr. in 2026!

gives just that as one of the Centaurs’ most blistering playmakers in the passing game. Tyler finished with 334 yards and 6 TDs on just 12 catches (27.8 YPC). Tyler’s presence has been more prominent in the secondary as an effective CB, but he’s proven to be just as dangerous in catching passes as he is in breaking them up, utilizing his dangerous speed and smooth footwork translating to the offense and creating separation for his QB to find him to create huge plays down the field. Tyler will look to help the Centaurs’ offense find more of a consistent groove to further showcase their potential in 2026 as the Centaurs’ are already ranked as one of the most hyped offensive units to watch this upcoming season.
