Lathon went nuclear in Bishop Hartley’s 55-42 win vs Elyria Catholic. On 21 carries, Lathon went for 309 yards and six touchdowns. On the same night, Lathon became the career rushing yard holder at Bishop Hartley. Lathon is a physical runner who can shake off contact and explode to get forward. He’s smooth and patient in making his moves. He’s one of the best pure runners in all of Central Ohio. Lathon and Bishop Hartley look to continue forward as they travel northeast to take on Ursuline Friday night.

Robert Lathon Robert Lathon 5'10" | 205 lbs | RB Bishop Hartley | 2026 State OH is the only player on this list that I saw live in 2024, and his bruising style of play was just as impressive in person as it was on film. Lathon has an excellent build for a running back and possesses a lot of physicality. He can run through defenders with both his upper and lower body and utilizes his hands effectively in that part of the game as well. He excels at finding lanes and can get tight to enter the second level and explode. Lathon has several D1 offers and will look to expand that list in 2025 with a revamped offense at Bishop Hartley.

Lathon has proved the college attention he received as a sophomore was well-deserved. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound, uber-talented tailback is fourth in the state in rushing yardage with 2,037 yards and 25 touchdowns. He flashes great top-end speed and ability to run through contact.

Lathon, the lead back for a Hartley team that runs out of condensed and heavy boxes, is the most critical player for his team’s success going into the playoffs. This year, Lathon has blown up and gotten a lot of hype for the class of 2026, and for good reason. This year, his play has improved athleticism and physical explosiveness. He can bounce it outside and make your defense go from sideline to sideline or muscle his way down the field, going at your defensive tackles. Lathon has had a great season, and I know he will want to continue doing his thing for the Hawks this season.

Lathon is the heart for the Bishop Hartley offense. Lathon is a physical back who can scrap for yards, but also offers the ability to bounce it outside and get yards. My favorite thing about Lathan is that his legs never stop churning as he tries to move forward with an attacking mind at all times. Lathon is going to be one of the runningbacks to watch going into playoff time and for next season.

Robert played very well as a Sophomore in 2023 rushing for 1723 yards and scoring 21 TD. His solid play helped the Bishop Hartley Hawks to a 10-win season where they advanced to the 3rd round of the playoffs and averaged 33.6 points per game. He displays very good patience as he waits for the block to be set up and hits the hole hard. He shows very good mental toughness as he doesn’t shy away from contact and breaks tacklers from larger defenders easily. He shows very good play speed and athletic ability as he scores with ease.

Lathan put up a big sophomore season for Bishop Hartley as he ran for over 1,700 yards and 21 touchdowns on the season. Lathan is a really strong between the tackles runner. He shows great vision and is a really explosive one cut runner who gets north and downhill in a hurry. One thing in his film that I really liked was on the second play of his hudl film. On this play his team in a 4th and 3 down and distance where they were trying to run out the clock and ice the game with 37 seconds left on the opponent’s 24-yard line. They run a counter trey play that gets Lathon free to the outside and he has the mental discipline to down the ball at the one-yard line. A really heady and selfless play by a young player. Lathan has several D1 G5 offers that he’ll look to build on this offseason.
