That stat line is not a typo, as Rhys fluid running ability wasted no time to show off what he could do around the edges of the field as he knows how to turn on the burst in the open field. I really like this young man’s footwork for his 6’1 200 pound frame, as he shows off well-versed range to turn on the ball quickly. He’s also patient in the open field with the ball in his hands waiting for blocks to develop as him and the Red Raiders won big 49-7 over Sterling (CO).

Sidney’s Rhys Dorcey Rhys Dorcey 6'1" | 195 lbs | RB/LB Sidney | 2027 State NE has burst onto the scene as a junior after showing flashes in a small sample size as a sophomore. Dorcey has established himself as a true feature back for the Red Raiders, recording 59 carries for 473 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns. Watching Rhys through four games, my biggest note is that he’s not necessarily a burner; instead, he uses his bigger frame and strong base to power through defenses and continue to pick up yardage after contact. Rhys has great contact balance, which makes it difficult for him to be brought down on initial contact, and he’ll also seek to dish out some punishment of his own. He identifies gaps quickly and displays a nice burst as he hits the hole. Dorcey has also shown that he can be a serviceable receiver out of the backfield with four receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown. The season is far from over, but Rhys has already made a believer out of us… keep tabs on this guy!
