Senior Anderson Smelley Anderson Smelley 6'2" | 230 lbs | DL Sidney | 2027 State NE returns as Sidney’s trusty “road-grader” on the offensive line and enforcer in the trenches on defense. Anderson was a key two-way player for the C1 runner-up Red Raiders, recording 46 tackles, 2.5 TFLs, two sacks, and a fumble recovery. On offense, Anderson does a great job firing off the ball and maintaining proper leverage when engaged with defenders. He can keep his base low and has a powerful leg drive to move opponents off the ball. Solid lateral quickness to help build up momentum on pulling blocks, and can climb up to the second level with ease. Defensively, it seemed like Anderon wound up near the ball at all times, showing off his non-stop motor and pursuit. He excels as a run-stopper who can blow up blockers and disrupt run lanes, while doing an excellent job tracking and closing on the ball to prevent big runs. Good frame at 6’3″ and 230 pounds with room to continue bulking up. Panhandle prospect with a ton of upside!
