Reggie recently decommitted and instantly became the top DL on the market here in Wisconsin. The 6’1″ 275 lbs DT is an unfair matchup on the interior. His first step quickness off the snap carries just as much power as it does speed. Combined, Reggie is able to blast into the backfield and create chaos at a consistent rate. Reggie’s hands possesses that same quick and powerful combo that swipe away hands or toss linemen to the side when they are able to cut off that initial burst off the line. Get Kloehn in a one gap role where he can wreck that havoc at the next level and he will change games. Reggie has a bright future ahead of him. Do not miss out on this kid!

You might not initially expect to see an IDL when picking the best first step quickness to build our perfect DL around. However, Reggie is not your typical IDL. His first step gives him a massive advantage in his battles in the trenches. He is able to instantly put the OL at bad leverage positions, which allows Reggie to beat them even easier. Reggie has also shown he can fly right through a gap before the OL can get a hand on him. He was impossible for an OL to reach because he got into the backfield too quickly. Another major bonus having Kloehn in this spot is the senior does a great job of turning that quickness into power on contact. We need our perfect DL to come off the line like him.

Reggie has had a fantastic summer of camps, so far. He has dominated, earning offers from almost the entire NSIC and St. Thomas. The 6’1″ DL just keeps growing and is now up to 275 lbs. That hasn’t impacted his best traits either. Reggie has a dominant, unfair first step off the line that instantly gives him the advantage over OL. He has strong hands that create separation as well as lateral agility that quickly gets him around his opponent. Reggie has a dominant ability to get into the backfield and throw off timing or bring down ball handlers. Kloehn has great foot speed and is able to generate plenty of power to control the interior of the trenches. His film this fall is going to be even more dominant with the added size from last year when he was about 240 lbs. Big things ahead for Reggie.

Reggie is going to show up a whole new athlete at camps this summer. When we updated rankings last summer right before the season Reggie was 6’1″ 235 lbs. During our last update he made the huge jump up to 260 lbs. A month later now I see he is 270 lbs. Between that huge size jump and the tape he put out this fall we could be seeing an athlete who is going to turn a lot of heads and surprise people. The big man runs an insane 4.79 40 yard dash. If he can get close to that at his current size this summer he is going to have a lot of fans.
What is more impressive, and useful on the field, is the quick twitch and explosive power he plays with. Reggie is great off the ball. He bursts out of his stance with quickness and power. That allows him to slip through gaps or force his way through if the OL was somehow able to get in front of him. Kloehn is also a high motor player that will make the play outside the pocket. I hope we can see Reggie in some padded camps so he can really show off his full bag of talents. I know there are options, like the UW- Eau Claire Big Man Camp. Make sure you have this kid on your radars.

Rankings Jump: #57 up to #47rnLast time we saw Reggie he was a 235 lbs DL. He is now up to a dominant 260 lbs and should turn plenty of heads during the camp season. Until then there is plenty of exciting tape to watch of the DL prospect. The first step explosion and transition to power jump off the tape. Reggie flies out of his stance and instantly can turn that short area burst into power to drive OL into the backfield. That is if the OL is able to get hands on him. We see plenty of times where he is simply too quick to cut off. On those plays Kloehn is a menace in the backfield, wrecking havoc and quickly ending plays. The junior also plays with active hands that helped him disengage on the interior. Reggie also has the athleticism to line up on the edge and still get to the QB. Kloehn is another prospect who probably isn’t done climbing the rankings. Keep an eye on him.

Reggie quickly became a favorite during my time watching his film. The 6’1″ 235 lbs DT is a game wrecker. While does lack the ideal size right now, there isn’t much else to downgrade him on. Reggie has developed an impressive base of strength that he uses to collapse the pocket as he bull rushes IOL into the QB. Kloehn is also very quick out of his stance with his first step and with his lateral agility. He shoots through gaps and is able to side step in an instant. The junior seems to play with a consistently high motor as well. I am exited to see what the Hortonville product does as a junior. Keep an eye on him.
