About Rasheed
Expert Analysis
Mark Johnson | Prep Redzone Scout
Rasheed is the type of Swiss Army knife that an OC should love to have. You can line him up in the backfield or out in the slot. On the ground he has the speed to get the edge and beat pursuit angles. He will also step up and be a willing blocker for his QB. Or you can put him in the slot and let him use his quickness to open up separation and then give the defense nightmares trying to contain him after the catch. Rasheed is a matchup nightmare that can give defenses fits as they try to find a way to contain him.

The 6’1″ 180 lbs Boylin Catholic standout RB can make his mark in every way possible for an RB. Give it to him on the ground, get him involved in the pass game, and even let him return kicks. Rasheed has elite track speed, so any time he can get the ball out in space gives him a major advantage. He can beat pursuit angles with his 10.85 100M speed. In the running game, Rasheed is a one cut runner who can explode through the line when he sees the hole and sticks his foot in the ground to cut up field. Johnson sees the field really well as well, especially behind the line of scrimmage. Rasheed looks to be in position to have a monster senior season.

Recruiting picked up for Boylan Catholic’s Rasheed Johnson Rasheed Johnson 6'1" | 185 lbs | RB Boylan Catholic | 2024 State IL in June, as FCS competitors Indiana State and Northern Iowa joined Lindenwood in offering the standout RB, but he’s still one of the better-kept secrets in the state, bringing a 10.85 100M and 22.52 200M to the table that helped him place 5th in the state 2A class and earn All-State honors. Track speed is no joke on the gridiron, and the 6’1, 180 lber. holds in spades, as well as positional versatility as a slot receiver and safety. Johnson recorded 63 carries for 686 yards and 19 receptions for 280 yards and 19 TDs, and displayed burst through the first and second levels of the defense and the pull away speed to outrun pursuit angles and finish big runs for six, which includes finishes against big-time competition. I like his vision, patience, and balance, which helps him power through tackle attempts at his lower body, grabs or arm tackles up top, and pushes from out-pursued defenders, as well as spin-off tackle attempts for highlight-reels reps. He can easily take the sideline on a defense, and if he finds the edge he’s gone, and Johnson also demonstrates a powerful one-cut ability on that last defender in the open field. He’ll be a popular recruit through the season and will be adding to that offer list shortly. Rockford is loaded with talent for 2023!

Rasheed has to be close to seeing his recruitment really take off. He holds an offer from Lindenwood and Indiana State, just received today. The Boylin Catholic RB brings a very well rounded skill set to the game. He has a good frame at 6’1″ 180 lbs, game breaking speed, and physicality needed to carry a large workload at the next level. Rasheed has 10.85 100M track speed, and after watching the highlights it is clear that Rasheed plays just as fast. He pulls away in the open field with ease. The ’24 RB also does a consistently effective job of running his feet through contact and picking up big yards after contact. Big things are ahead for the soon to be senior RB. Don’t miss out on this playmaker.
