Glenwood had a commanding opening round victory over Bloomington this past weekend 62-28. Quarterback Colten Knoedler led his offense to an explosion of points, throwing for 316 yards and 6 touchdowns. Knoedler got off to a hot start in the game and ended up throwing for 78% on the day. Glenwood will travel north to take on Richards this Saturday. Knoedler will look to stay hot this week and carry his momentum into this weekend.
Rasheed Johnson Rasheed Johnson 6’1″ | 185 lbs | RB Boylin Catholic | 2024 State IL made the most out of his 17 carries in round one of the playoffs rushing for almost 100 yards and 3 touchdowns. Boylan Catholic was able to lean on Johnson and the run game to control the clock and ultimately the game against Phillips. The Northern Iowa commit is a do-it-all back has been a problem for opposing defenses all year. Boylan Catholic will be taking on a loaded IC Prep team in round 2 of the playoffs, look for Johnson to show up big again this week.
Kainon McQueary
Kainon McQueary
The Panthers have been playing great defense in 2o23. In the first round they were able to pair that defense will an outstanding run game. This style of football will make Washington extremely difficult to beat moving forward. Leading the rushing attack was Kainon McQueary a senior running-back that rushed for 100 yards and three touchdowns. McQueary ran hard and was able to make multipe defenders miss in space. Washington will look to do more of the same this week as they take on Crete-Monee.

No one had a better start to a game than Xavien Moody on Friday Night. Moody started the first round off with a bang taking the opening kick-off to the house. He was able to set the tone for the rest of the night with the Lancers never looking back. They had one of the most dominating performance in the first round beating West Aurora 70-0. Belleville East takes on ranked Maine South this weekend in round 2.
