Expert Analysis

Quin doesn’t take long to show his swiss army knife capability he has at his disposal. He boosts great get off hands and pummels to the ball carrier at the point of attack. Although he’s not your prototypical tight end from a size perspective, Quin has the next-level drive as a run-blocker that has great pad-level and overwhelming hands that doesn’t take long to get his defender off balance. Quin is a blue-collar athlete that shows that he can excel on all three-levels of the field as the more I watch the tape, the more I like him in the nickel spot at the next-level due to his hybrid ability he shows on tape defensively.

prior to the season starting, he REALLY blew up after a tremendous state championship performance, helping the Cavaliers clinch the title. Overall, Quin had a great season in which he tallied 101 tackles, two interceptions, a blocked kick, 24 receptions, 302 receiving yards, two receiving touchdowns, and two punt return touchdowns. Watching Quin’s tape, I was very impressed with his versatility and athleticism on defense, showing he can fit the mold of the modern-day defender. He is very rangy with great coverage instincts that allow him to pick up on offensive concepts quickly, giving him high upside at safety. Schutt also showed that he is more than willing to be a run defender, moving up into the box to provide extra body in run support. Schutt makes sure to get all of his licks when he gets to the ball carrier, providing some highlight hits while still using good form to secure the stop. He has a frame that should hold up well at 6’1″ and 190 pounds with solid length. Quin is listed as a tight end, so it was interesting to see him make plays not just as a pass catcher, but showing he can bring the juice as a blocker as well.

is a do it all guy for Bishop Neumann. At his TE spot he does a great job opening up his hips to the ball and fluidly continuing his momentum towards the endzone through the catch. He also blocks well in space, attaching and moving defenders to create holes at the LOS and downfield. On defense he plays a hybrid S/LB spot playing some man to man on slots and Will LB in zone. He has a nose for the football with 101 tackles on the year, third on the team with 8.4 per game. Last but not least, Schutt had a blocked FG in last year’s championship matchup, and I hope he finds another edge on ST to boost his team tomorrow.
