OUTLOOK

Bishop Neumann closed the book and became state champions in Class C-2 taking home the hardware back from Memorial Stadium in Lincoln back to Wahoo. The Cavaliers had nine All-State athletes on their roster last year and out of those nine, only two return to their 2026 roster, losing seven to graduation including Northwest Missouri State offensive line signee Matt Thulin. Those two big names to watch for the Cavaliers are 2027 DB/TE [player_tooltip player_id='2345001' first='Quinn' last='Schutt'] and 2028 linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='2345005' first='Henry' last='Woita']. While uncovering their Hudl roster this evening their wasn't much that I could find minus the two All-Staters from last season for the Cavaliers, so they will need to rely on new names to rise to the ocassion because they were so senior heavy in the 2025 season.

One of two All-Staters returning to the Cavaliers on their 2026 team as one of their senior leaders is defensive back and tight [player_tooltip player_id='1588476' first='Quin' last='Schutt'] who I recall writing about in the past. He ran up 101 tackles and two interceptions as a junior for Bishop Neumann and was the top tackler in Class C-2 amongst the All-State at defensive back regardless of the class. The 6'1 195 pounder is a very effective runner stopper that has agile hands off blocks that can can get to the point attack very quickly. He's one of the more well-rounded tight ends you'll see in Class C-2 in the 2026 season, as Quin not only quickly shows off his athletic ball skills in the air, but is a well-versed run-blocker that can drive leverage upfield into the second level. Surely will be a two-way threat to watch for the Cavaliers as we look ahead at 2026.

The other returning All-Stater for Bishop Neumann that was one of the younger ones on the All-State last year was 2028 linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='2345005' first='Henry' last='Woita']. Henry is a quick flyer to the football and is has some of the best lateral movement you will see amongst linebackers returning in Class C-2. It also doesn't take long to see how well-versed this young man is with his vision has he has a significantly quick get off down to the ball carrier that possesses the instincts you want out a run-stopping linebacker that is fluid getting off his blocks downhill in the inside box as well. Henry is surely a 2028 Nebraska linebacker that needs to get on our 2028 board here ASAP.

Another 2028 that I was able to find some tape on from the 2025 season, was defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='2345026' first='Jack' last='Glaser'] of Bishop Neumann, Jack is a weapon to watch out for in the Cavaliers return game, as he not only has long athletic strides, but I was impressed with how elusive this young man was evading and utilzing his vision thru high traffic area to eventually find the edges of the football field. Jack plays on all three levels of the field for Bishop Neumann and is one name that is new to my radar that I am excited to see what happens in his junior season.
