Preston earns a jump from his recent Ferris commitment in addition to his recent tape.

He’s an extremely versatile player and Grand Ledge’s best offensive weapon. I especially like Preston’s release and 50/50 ball ability. Time after time on tape, Preston explodes off the line of scrimmage faster than anyone else. He does a great job at earning separation downfield and is physical enough to box out his defender and high-point the football. Preston has phenomenal athletic traits and should develop well at the college level.

Touching on defense, Preston is able to play DB, LB, or DE. Generally, Preston is a high-effort player, plays with the same play speed he does on offense, and could easily be a college DB.

I agree with the D2 evaluation he’s received through the recruiting process and his ranking reflects that.

This past season, Preston was an extremely highly productive two-way player at Grand Ledge. Defensively, Preston played like a linebacker at Safety. I love his aggressiveness and hard-hitting nature on the defensive side. Offensively, Preston was a dynamic athlete playing QB and WR. In both positions, Preston plays with elite effort, play speed, and is downright dominant against lesser defenses. At second glance, Preston is admittedly ranked low during this update. It’s my mistake, and he’ll almost certainly be ranked higher during the next update.

Last season, Preston was a huge standout within the Grand Ledge defense. Against the run, he’s one of the more reactive safeties I’ve seen. Preston excels at shedding blocks from receivers, and he’s also good at making open-field tackles. Against the pass, he’s relatively reactive and shows high upside. I’d imagine he also tests well because he received an offer from Davenport last month. From being on the Watch List to a D2 prospect is a huge jump, and he’ll be ranked during the next update!
