O’Banion will be tasked to fill in an Offensive Line unit that has new parts to it. He’s a versatile player but is best as an interior lineman. He can be used outside as he moves well laterally and has a quick first step, he can hold up to bull rushers and can get to the speedy edge rushers. He’ll be tasked to take on some elite defensive linemen this year.
O’Banion has good movement that goes well with his thick frame. In the 5v5 drills. He showed quickness to set his base, hands to strike and sustain his feet and balance against some solid pass rushing prospects at the event. He was a huge contributor to the Knight’s offensive line play this past season. Has the size and movement to play along the offensive interior at the next level.
O’Banion is an athletic lineman who can add an extra 10-15 lbs to fill out his frame. He is best as an interior lineman. O’Banion is light on his feet and easily pulls, and is a lineman who will get to the second level with ease. He moves exceptionally well and showcases his physicality in run-blocking schemes. O’Banion is a strong player and shows off a mean streak, and is a mauler on the line. He has a good base and keeps good positioning in pass protection. O’Banion has a good first step, showcases good hands, and doesn’t overreach to get bad penalties. He is a player who should get looked at regionally in recruiting.
