There’s a lot to like on his tape as a WR, flashing sharp footwork and can catch through traffic well, being able to break back to the ball, and showcases solid physicality as a run-blocker. Speaking of which, Smit saw some playing time at Free Safety as well, providing value as a run-stopper with solid tackling ability and impressive hit-power on the ball-carrier. Smit will have a much bigger role for the Warriors in 2026, and he should be on the radar as a breakout candidate in the 3A conference.

One of the first 2028 names out of Iowa to catch my attention at the Augustana Prospect Camp was Sioux Center’s Parker Smit Parker Smit 6'1" | 160 lbs | WR/DB Sioux Center | 2028 IA . The first look I got of Parker showed off a 2028 prospect that peaked with excellent athleticism for his age, as the 4-sport athlete showed off a lot of natural athletic traits. That alone was the live eval I got in the testing session at Augustana, as the later we got into camp you could see the smooth translation especially getting to watch Parker’s hands during the reps I caught, as again the word “natural” came to my notebook to describe his hands. Surely a 2028 to get deeper our Iowa radar after his live eval at Augie.

Sioux Center reached the Class 3A state semifinals this past season with Smit delivering important contributions as a sophomore. He caught 16 passes for 216 yards (13.5 YPC) and a touchdown, collect 8.5 tackles, five of which were solo stops, and averaged 13.5 yards on six kick returns. Smit provides evidence as to how he gets the job done during his 10th-grade highlight video. On it, we witness a long-limbed receiver adept at making plays in traffic, where he eludes would-be tacklers or breaks through them. Smit is an advanced route runner for his age, regularly achieving separation from the defensive back with crisp cuts and the ability to sell deception. It’s a projectable frame capable of adding plenty of good weight in a college strength and conditioning program without the loss of speed or agility. It’s a set of skills also capable of working on special teams.
