from Buckingham Browne & Nichols i. Massachusetts is a prospect who started varsity as an 8th grader and hasn’t looked back. He has grown from off-season work and has improved his athletic frame and skill set. His speed is a special trait in film, as he has noticeable long strides at full speed. He plays physically and will come up hard when he identifies run. Desalvo will continue to draw high-level D1 college interest. He earned an early offer from Umass when he was in 8th grade. Im not sure if the offer is still on the table, but the way he performs consistently at this young age, one can only imagine that it is still a solid offer. (HUDL)

I wrote about Owen back in March. I can’t say enough about this kid. His measurables will be checked out in person. Owen is next in line to most likely take over the running back spot at Buckingham Browne and Nichols School once Bo MacCormick, Syracuse commit, graduates. He played Safety as an 8th grader this past season. It was very easy to see how and why he got time so early on in his career in such a competitive league that’s loaded with future college prospects. Owen looked good as usual at this particular showcase. He is that one cut and get down hill type runner that can make you miss. Has great balance and lean when running the ball. His ability to make plays is what i love about this kid most. No matter where you have him on the field he is going to make plays for you. He showed he can catch the ball out the backfield. I predict Owen will add some offers by the end of his Freshman season. He currently has an offer from Umass Amherst.

This kid is a football player. He passes the eye test with flying colors. Owen has great size and speed. In a 7v7 enviroment some would argue its not physical but that was the exact opposite with Owen. Showcased excellent ball skills on both sides of the ball. A strong talent for jumping passing lanes and Breaking up passes from safety position. He can high point the ball going up to get it in traffic no matter who is around him. He will make you miss putting a foot in the ground and get down hill quickly with the ball in his hands. Has a Big burst. Already holds one offer and is only class of 2028. Will be a returning starter at Buckingham Browne & Nobles this fall.

DeSalvo was a kid I was dying to see play live again, because it had been over a year and a half since I last saw him in person–the wait was well worth it. The Massachusetts native was part of a nice contingency that made the trip down and very easily could have been named MVP of the group. Almost immediately, it was easy to see why he played varsity football this year as an eighth-grader and why he already holds an offer from UMass. He moved exceptionally well through drills–fluid, succinct and without any waisted steps. He finished tied for the best forty time in the position group. In addition, his 4.38 in the shuttle tied him for second in the position group. I can’t say enough good things about what I saw out of DeSalvo. He’s listed as an ATH because of what he does on the defensive side of the ball during the regular season. Regardless of where he plays on the field, DeSalvo moves the needle. If all goes to plan, I see no reason why he doesn’t tack on additional offers during his freshman year.

What we know: He is an 8th grader who has earned a starting safety position for his team at Buckingham Browne & Nichols High School in Massachusetts. It is a rare opportunity for a rising athlete to get five years of high school football to look forward to. But make no mistake, he fits the part. I had got a chance to see him play his first varsity game and was impressed. Has a solid athletic frame with plenty of room for additional growth and development.
Has very good speed and quickness and plays downhill while being physical. His name is one many will know in New England over the next 5 years. I look forward to watching him grow and continuing to evaluate his progress.
