Expert Analysis
CJ DeGennaro | Prep Redzone Scout
After reviewing Osiris’ recent game film, he profiles as a high-upside edge defender whose explosiveness and relentless motor immediately stand out. Osiris consistently explodes off the edge, showing a quick first step that allows him to stress offensive tackles and disrupt plays in the backfield.
Osiris demonstrates good leverage and body control, positioning himself effectively to finish plays as both a pass rusher and a run defender. He shows the ability to work across the line of scrimmage, maintaining balance while tracking the ball and closing with purpose. His effort level is constant, and his motor routinely carries him to the quarterback.
As a sophomore-level prospect, Osiris already shows the tools to impact the game in multiple ways. His ability to rush the passer while also holding up against the run makes him one of the more complete edge defenders in his class. With continued development and experience, he is well-positioned for a breakout season.
Projection: Edge defender with three-down potential

Osiris is one of the most impressive prospects from the Class of 2028. As a freshman, he was a problem to block for opposing OL. He recorded 5 sacks and 21 pressures. Osiris explodes off the edge and has a motor that gets him to the QB. He plays with good leverage and positions himself to make plays. He can work across the LOS to be a run defender and rush the passer as good as anyone in his class. Osiris should have a monster sophomore campaign.

showcased impressive potential as a DL/Edge. Standing at 6’2” and weighing 230, he was a standout in the GOLD wristband group, donning a BLACK 92 shirt. Two Division 1 FCS and 1 FBS Coach expressed interest, praising his physique and youth. Although challenged during competition, he exhibited strength at the point of contact. With an enhanced focus on stance, hand placement, and leverage, Osiris can distinguish himself further. His ability to quickly read and react to plays is a promising indicator of future success!

Osiris is making his presence felt in the trenches. He can get a good rush off the edge, and can chase down tackles from the backside. He can take on blockers of any size, has violent hands, and good mix of moves. He can also play on offense, but this season has been all about his skills on defense.

– He uses his hands well while splitting double teams. He has very good power in the lower body while displaying a bull rush technique. Keeps eyes on the backfield, indicating the ability to read the screen well. Niven’s frame stands out at an early age. I can easily imagine that he will become even more developed throughout his high school career. Has a huge ceiling that could attract many college programs. He will be added to our c/o 2028 first rankings list when published.

A year ago, Osiris Niven won the Defensive Line MVP at the Prep Redzone Next Middle School Camp as a seventh-grader–this past weekend, nearly a year to the day, he took home co-MVP honors again. The Massachusetts Defensive End prospect traveled down route 95 several hours and he did not disappoint. Up nearly two inches and 15+ pounds from last year to 6-foot-2 and 207-pounds, Niven has been spending obvious time in the gym, as he has drastically muscled up. This was Niven’s third and final PRZ Next camp before he’s off to Milton Academy and he saved his best performance for last. Throughout the 1-on-1 portion of the event, he showed natural pass rush ability and the he can win with speed and/or power. Showed off a nice pass rush move arsenal, which kept the opposing Offensive Linemen off balance and guessing. In conversations, he told me he’s planning to hit several college camps in June–I won’t be shocked if he’s verbally offered before the Mustangs kick off the 2024 season.

Won’t get into his 8th-grade tape, I don’t evaluate middle school film, albeit I have a feeling Niven’s is impressive. Impressive enough for Milton Academy to accept him. No reclass here, Niven has just recently announced that he’ll be joining the program this Fall.

A part of Tenfold Elite 15U, It’s likely I’ll be seeing this young man in a month at our 7v7 in PA. Excited to get a good look at what looks like a promising blue-chip prospect.

Only a class of 2028 athlete, Niven has all the tools to be a really special player–especially with at least one more year of pre-high school football left. He’s a speed rusher off the end–the perfect example of what the modern day “Edge” player looks like at this level. The Massachusetts prospect looked good at the New Jersey camp.
