Casarez checks in as the #7-LB in PRZ NV’s 2027 rankings update after a productive season for Reed’s defense. The 6’/190 sophomore totaled 92 tackles and 5 TFLs in 2024. Solid physical profile with good length and athleticism to his frame. Mostly aligned between the OTs last season but could see him developing into a future OLB given the size and speed he shows on tape. Can diagnose and react to run in a timely manner, can beat blockers to the spot when getting downhill, and shows his toughness filling interior lanes. Casarez will be one of several Reed front-seven defenders to watch heading into next season.
