6’2, 320 pounds. Has dabbled with the IDL position in the past. Was recently named a Top Five OL performer at the most recent PRZ PA Stock Up Showcase.
Doesn’t have a full-season tape out on Hudl. I usually do not rank kids if they can’t release a full-season, yet Powell’s play at our camp, along with his first-four tape were enough for a ranking, a high one at that. Beefy build, one suitable for interior OL/DL play. First rep on tape has Powell pulling at left guard and flattening an un-blocked OLB. Fantastic forward momentum and balance coupled with powerful leg drive allows Powell to serve as the ideal lead-puller for Imhotep. Does a good job getting his backside in the hole, a great seal-blocker in the run game. I feel like the best of Powell is yet to come. I’m expecting a huge junior year, one that should garner D1 interest.

is a top 50 ranked prospect in the 2027 Pennsylvania class and I can see why. Particularly at guard he is strong/krafty big man, when he gets you extended look out, the young man has real power. My guess is that if he comes and balls out with several coaches on hand, that should do wonders for his recruiting.

If the West squad takes a look, and decides to try and run to the other side of the East Defensive Line, it won’t get much easier with big Nyeem Powell and his staggering size sitting there. Powell, a Philadelphia native, is every bit of 6-foot-3 and 330-plus pounds. If him and the West’s Lex Mailangi are lined up across from each other, it’ll be the immovable object vs. the unstoppable force, in real life. Up until this AYF All-Star game, I had only seen Powell play on the Offensive Line where he was obviously a very good player. However, watching him play as an interior Defensive Lineman, this is where he needs to be. Powell is your conventional Nose or 2-Tech, that typically requires a double team. If he’s not moved out of the way, he has the ability to clog up multiple gaps. The East Linebackers should be licking their chops getting to play behind boys the size of Powell and Bracey.
