Chapala is an exciting running back for Mead. Measures in at 5’10 170-pounds, he had 186 carries for 1412 yards and 13 touchdowns. Chapala has very good athletic ability due to very good change of direction, speed, acceleration, and good balance. Explosive quick start at the line of scrimmage. Very good vision. He weaves through the defense effortlessly. Very good inside running. He gets behind his OL in short yardage situations and gets the first down. Very good outside running. He turns the perimeter and is gone. Chapala gets yards after contact, due to his nasty juke moves. He’ll bounce off defenders as well. He’s a beast and deserves some more recruiting love.

Chapala once again proved why he consistently draws attention at the StockUp tour. His explosiveness immediately stood out and his testing numbers were solid as well. Chapala runs with urgency, showing sharp cuts and the ability to accelerate through creases. He also flashed quality route running skills, giving him value as a receiving threat. One area of focus moving forward will be refining his blitz pickup, which could elevate his overall game even further. Chapala’s competitive nature and willingness to improve, stand out just as much as his athletic traits. With continued development in pass protection, he has the tools to become a well rounded back and is firmly positioned as a rising name to monitor.

Chapala has been a consistent performer at our Stock Up Showcases for a while now, and this event was no different. I was really impressed with his body control during the ladder drills. Very controlled body movements. One thing of note is his pro shuttle speed. He was 7th at the event, and 34th nationally. During the 1 on 1’s, he showed off his dynamic cuts making some of the linebackers miss. Explosive quick start to his runs paired with very good athletic ability. He’s shifty and elusive, but isn’t afraid of getting physical. Another great camp for the standout running back.

Chapala first come onto my radar from the 3A Championship game, and continued to impress me at our PRZ combine event. Last season, he had 96 carries for 677 yards and 9 touchdowns. He averaged 7.1 yards per carry which is amazing. Chapala has very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, change of direction, good balance, and speed. Chapala is very shifty and shows off his very good vision to find paths. When a gap is covered, he uses his dynamic cuts to slide into the open one effortlessly. Chapala is a weaver and will use his athletic ability to run around the defenders, but he isn’t afraid of getting physical and trucking through them. He is a phenomenal receiver out of the backfield. Very good ball tracking skills. Very good catching and strong hands to hold onto the ball. He has great ball skills, and I can see him getting more action at the wide receiver position this fall.

Chapala really impressed me as both a running back and a receiver. He shined in the receiving drills. Chapala has very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, change of direction, good speed, and balance. Chapala is a shifty running back, who uses his good vision and long stride dynamic cuts to make LBs miss. In the drills against DBs, Chapala made a beautiful deep ball catch. He extended his arms, used his strong fingers and hands to secure the catch. Very good catching. He uses his good speed to beat the DB in press jam and get open. Very good ball tracking skills. I can see Chapala getting more looks as a receiver after this type of performance.

Chapala stood out with his crisp route running and smooth cuts throughout the day. A natural pass catcher, he consistently created separation and showcased the ability to high point the football against defenders. His speed and versatility make him a mismatch against linebackers, as he can run every route with ease. Chapala is an emerging name that will need to be firmly on recruiting radars moving forward.
